I discovered this brand of jeans quite accidentally on a clearance rack several years ago and they remain to this day the best brand of jeans I have ever owned. Any plus size woman can tell you that every plus size woman is shaped differently. I tend to carry my weight in my tummy and upper thighs with narrow hips, and have four different sizes of jeans in my closet, all of which fit differently. Democracy is the one brand I can go to for consistent fit in the cuts that suit me (girlfriend, boyfriend, and straight leg). I can pull these off a rack without trying them on and know that they will fit. When this pair arrived, I didn't need to try them on but I did anyway. Sure enough, perfect fit. I have even tried Democracy's pull-on, jegging, and skinny jean cuts in my regular size, and to my astonishment, they all fit. While I could wear them, they're not my favorite silhouette on my body so I wear the cuts I prefer. Shopping for jeans in any other brand is a nightmare for me, so if you have the kind of plus size body who carries extra weight in the thighs and find that the jeans that fit in the thighs are too big in the waist and hips, give this brand a try. For your first time, I recommend buying a size down as well as your regular size (Amazon returns are easy enough). Democracy uses a lighter weight denim with generous stretch, a no-gap waistband that does not cut into you, and a more generous cut in the thighs than most other denim brands. If you have never owned a pair of Democracy jeans before your only regret will be not trying them sooner, and if you take care of them, you'll have them for years. The style I purchased was about $50, which is a steal compared to mall retailers (you could pay twice as much). I initially was introduced to this brand in a Wantable box last year. As a short, mid-size lady, I've wasted a lot of time and money trying to find jeans that fit my body without tailoring. I put on the cropped version of these from my Wantable box and was delighted when they fit like a glove. I recently lost weight and needed to buy new jeans, but was hesitant to try the full length version; since at 5' tall, even the petite length of most skinny jeans tends to be a little too long and bunch on me. I was so pleasantly surprised when this was not the case with this brand and purchased several washes to round out my wardrobe. The waistband and jeans themselves have just the right amount of flex to remain comfortable throughout the day without losing shape. As far as quality goes, my initial pair was just beginning to show signs of needed replaced (wearing on the inner thighs) when it was time to retire them anyways. But given how much I wore them and the price point, I think this was a reasonable amount of time for them to last. ... show more

These are very comfortable and flattering jeans. They have just the right amount of stretch so they don't lose their shape the longer you wear them. I wish they were just a bit longer so I could wear them with more types of shoes and boots.

Love the color and quality but I’m tall (5’10”) and I have a really hard time finding great fitting jeans. These were initially long enough but after the first wash they are just about 1/2” too short.

With a small waist, but heavy in the butt & thighs, I have a hard time finding jeans that fit nicely. These are perfect & my favorite fitting jeans! Material is soft and stretchy, no gapping at the waist. I have had the barely ripped blue jeans for almost 2 years & the rip has never expanded (which I am happy about). The black pair I have had for a year & they get washed at least once a week. The color has really started to fade, but they're still in perfect condition otherwise! Love these jeans. Have worn them all day and they feel like leggings! I am really hard to fit, but these are so close to tailor made it’s crazy! The only thing is they’re still a little long, as I am only 5’1, 178, and size 14 petites are what I ordered, yet still a about and inch to long to be ankle length, which is what I was going for.
