Darlings, no one likes muffin tops or rolldown jeans that slouch their waistband down your stomach. Not all of us have flat physiques on par with Rihanna or many a Hollywood or Olympic star, much as we might like. Covid doesn't translate into time to workout for those of us practicing our sourdough starters, stuck inside from working out, or welded to our desks as essential workers on a salary. So, that much said, these are the most forgiving of jeans, and rejoice, because they aren't stinting for tall ladies, curvy ladies, or ladies who like colour in their pants. I've never heard of Democracy Jeans before, and frankly the wanderings through Amazon Wardrobe brought me here out of chance. Having a bootcut jean long enough for my 35" inseam is difficult, let alone a dark wash AND one without an obnoxious low rise. The waist-to-hip ratio I have is also difficult, since jeans that fit the widest part of me rarely fit the narrowest point without that irritating slip-down. Enter the Absolution; I don't know who designed them but they had my proportions and issues in mind. For one, they're stretchy, which is appreciated when weight fluctuates (especially at certain times of the month). The gossamer length of the front panels holds you in without obviously feeling like maternity wear or something, and the smooth lines fit beautifully for a mid-rise jean that stays where it ought to be. The waistband lies below the belly button and stays smoothly fitted no matter where you prance. And the length. Hello length. I can actually wear a jean at a proper length. If you're short, you may want to get the sample pair from Wardrobe because there could be a need for hemming. For once, I feel like the jean is made for height. I love how the leg remains fitted but not stovepipe or ultra skinny through the thigh, sweeping in a flattering arc out from the knee in a small bootcut that can accommodate hiking boots or equestrian boots with equal ease. I've tested both just to be sure. They're not a fully done flare, but the definition is there. Colours vary; I chose indigo (twice, actually), because the dark, rich ultramarine pops without getting anywhere near black. These jeans have zero whiskering, fades, ombre, or tears, and other such nonsense that interrupts the rich, lavish colour I want. Dark trouser jeans are acceptable at the office, ragged acid wash rejects from 1981 most definitely aren't, but I can get away with these and feel professional and stylish. Any additions are modest, retreating to a deep brass finish in the small pocket studs. I don't like a lot of bling on my jeans, and these provide the minimal necessary. I haven't found a reason to complain. They are thinner; if you want to wear a heavy-weight jean on a cold day, slap a thermal layer or a pair of leggings under them for extra care. I tried these through a subscription company that I accidentally subscribed to.....long story 😆 and was so sad that I had to send these back (They were $80 through the subscription and pffffft...I don't spend that kind of money on jeans that are going to be covered in playdoh and spaghetti-os). BUT thankfully I took note of the company because I found these for $30 cheaper here on Amazon. ANYWAY... These jeans are perfect. They sculpt and hug and best of all, stay in place all day! They are the perfect length on my tall frame and have just enough stretch in the legs to make playing on the floor with my toddler fun. They are comfortable enough for my home days and sophisticated enough for date night. No regrets! ... show more

These fit as expected for their sizes - I purchased a size 6 and 8 since many reviews said to size down. Wish I wouldn't have - I actually wish I had ordered a size UP to see how the 10s would have fit. Pros: • Very flattering on me • Correct length and fit • Plenty of stretch Cons: • Finish has some pokey bits that felt scratchy - if you're highly sensitive to things like this (like me), they would drive you nuts if you tried to wear them all day • Fairly thin - I could see underwear lines through them easily and they didn't necessarily feel like wearing "jeans" • Crotch area was too confining - I like a little room down there, especially for sitting down and being comfortable. These were too "up in there" in that area even when standing, so again, wouldn't recommend if you're sensitive to this type of thing. Overall, if you're usually able to throw on anything and be comfortable, these will probably be awesome for you, as they're much more stretchy and flattering than many jeans. If you're more sensitive, there are a couple of things that you may not like. I would NOT recommend sizing down. ... show more

I have not had such comfortable jeans which fits me so perfect for years! Thanks to its elastic waist line and the stretchy fabric, I think it will look great on any body shapes. The regular length is still a bit too long for me but with heels it is perfect! So make sure you check out the measurements if you want to order long. Size: 6 Color: Optic White
They are a bright white, and the denim is thick, which I like. However, they do not fit the way my other Democracy jeans in darker colors fit. I wear a size 6 regular and cut them off about 2 inches because I am petite. These jeans were way too long. The waistband is stretchy but not as stretchy as my other Democracy jeans. My main complaint is the looseness in the thigh area. These white jeans were at least 1.5 inches bigger, which made them baggy The left thigh was wider than the right. When I sat down, they sagged in the front. i returned them. I do not recommend these jeans. ... show more

5'3", short torso and longer legs,128 lbs, athletic build, between a straight and hourglass figure, size 6 in shorts, small or medium in tops, typically a 29 in premium denim. Ordered a 6 regular and they fit well, wearing at least twice a week. Work from home, jeans very comfortable sitting at my desk all day, length just past ankles - good with flats, would need the long version if I wanted to wear anything with a heel. Wash on cold inside out, tumble dry low and the hang to finish drying - so far so good! Considering ordering a few more in different rinses. Ordered the white version - ran longer than the Indigo wash pair with slightly tighter fit through thigh and wider flare at the bottom. Not as flattering on my frame, returned. ... show more
