  • Fits great on my old craftsman
Bought it to upgrade my factory fence on my grandpa's old craftsman. It was easier to install than I expected and is a great upgrade over the stock one. It's very accurate and didn't take much adjusting. Can't beat it for the money.

  • Very Good Table Saw Fence
I bought this to go on an older 2 HP contractor style table saw with a 27x40 cast iron table. I decided to go with the Delta fence, mainly because of price. When the fence kit arrived I took the fairly heavy package out to my shop and checked to make sure there was no damage and that all the parts/pieces were there. No damage, and all the nuts/bolts and tools required for mounting the rails to the saw table are included. There are good instructions, even though this is a pretty straight forward installation. I had to drill one hole in the front and rear of the cast iron table because the holes in the included rails didn't quite match up to my older saw. Actually, there were several holes that didn't match up, but I was able to use four bolts in each rail which is very adequate as the rails are heavy duty and once they were bolted and torqued it is very solid. The fence itself is very nice quality and rolls smoothly across the table. Once installed I tested to make sure the fence was square to the miter slots and to the blade. It was perfect right outta' the box! I ran a couple cuts on a long board just to verify. Again, perfect with no blade burn on the wood. I highly recommend this fence kit if you're in the market for a fence. It's a quality fence kit that's easy to install and dead accurate. Kudos to Delta for marketing a quality product. ... show more

  • Really nice and sturdy. Keeps square
Glides beautifully, locks in strong and installed on an older model craftsman (3 HP belt drive from sears). Ruler is nice and accurate. Did have go drill my own holes into my table saw but it was worth it.

  • Worked well on my Delta 36-444 Contractors Saw
My old fence had taken more than its share of abuse over the years, and it was time to replace it. My saw is an 30 year old Delta Contractors Saw, but it still has plenty of life left and the table was in great shape. So I figured I'd give this a try. === The Good Stuff === * With a few hiccups (see below) , the installation worked pretty well. Out of the box, the adjustments were pretty close to dead-on, and everything was as plumb as my eyes could discern. The measurement scale was maybe 1/64th out- the very edge of being noticeable to the naked eye. A quick adjustment took a few minutes (decently well described in the instructions), and my saw now exceeds my ability as a carpenter. * The fence is big and sturdy. I think I prefer my old, thinner fence because it was easier to lock my hand to it when pushing material through..but I am sure I'll get used to this. When you adjust the clamps, it doesn't move, even if you bump it with stock. * The acid test- the first cuts I have made have all been square and plumb. I am very happy with the results. === The Not-So-Good Stuff === * The instructions could certainly use some help. This is a $200 piece of equipment- the drawings should be big enough and detailed enough that you can easily tell the front and rear brackets from each other. It took a bit of logical inference to sort them out. C'mon. * The shipping container was a joke. It shipped in a lightweight cardboard box with foam inserts. This thing must weigh 30 pounds, so you can imagine what the box looked like by the time the "Amazon Prime" team delivered it. It had clearly been taped up on route and some straps added along the way. I was skeptical about even accepting it. * The mounting hardware was in a sealed bag...and contained enough screws to install the fence, install any oversized table panels, and bolt together most of a modern aircraft carrier. What it did not contain were the lock washers clearly shown in the instructions and parts list. Nothing worse than a trip to the hardware store first thing in a project. * The new fence weighs about half of what the previous one did. No idea if that is a good or bad thing, but certainly seems like it might be less tolerant of jobsite abuse. * The measurement scales appear to be a metallic "decal", not permanently etched like the old fence. Hopefully these do not rub off or scratch up. === Summary === I am mostly happy with this fence, although there are certainly a few things that could have been done much better. There is no excuse for incomplete parts in a product in this price category, and the shipping container is just comical. My biggest concern is how the fence will hold up- especially the physical markings on the measurement scale. However, it is straight, plumb and gives good results- all things that weren't true of its predecessor. ... show more

  • Perfect fit Rockwell Model 10
TLDR: Perfect fit and easy install for Rockwell Model 10, buy now My model is specifically the 34-410 an almost 40 year old saw. Easy install with no drilling and very very minimal adjustment to get perfectly aligned. Like many others have said the packaging is extremely poor for today's "everything ordered online and shipped via cheapest carrier possible" world. I was lucky and mine arrived with the box not looking so good but luckily the contents only had some scratches. The factory sealed hardware package was missing all of the star washers but had plenty of everything else. The only extra hardware needed besides some lock washers to replace the missing star washers was 2 5/16" fine thread by approximately 3/4" long bolts to attach rear rail to the cast table. I was expecting removal of old rails and fence and installation of new rails and fence to take several hours with adjustment and fine tuning but I was done in under an hour. ... show more

  • Very good fence, horrible experience overall.
No issues with the fence at all, but someone at Delta needs to get their stuff together. Packaging was destroyed as others have said, but contents were acceptable. The hardware kit didn't really bear any resemblance to the hardware kit described in the instructions. Instructions were bad - tells me to mount the front rail on the front and the rear rail on the real, but doesn't give any clue which rail is which - had to hunt through the book looking for some image with a clue. Wants star washers everywhere, but doesn't include any. Bolts are 5/16"x18 thread, but the heads require a METRIC wrench (no biggie, but WHY?). Says the guide tube mounts with 4 bolts on the 30" fence and 6 bolts on the 54" fence. Well my 30" fence has 6 holes for bolts. But only 4 screws. But only 5 of the holes are threaded. Disappointing from a company like Delta that many people (used to) respect greatly. ... show more
