  • Awesome laptop
Needed a new laptop for work and this came highly recommended to me from other trial techs in the legal field. Also heard it was very popular with gamers (which I'm not). Love the colorful keyboard lights! Laptop works great and is very fast.

  • Its a big laptop, works like a champ for engineering programs.
Battery life is not the best and its a very large laptop so I wouldnt recommend it for traveling with. However if you are planning to keep this at home to work with I highly recommend it. Just ran RAM, SAP2000 and AutoCad all simultaneously and the laptop was able to perform all the required function, even with youtube and spotify playing in the background. Does it work? - Yes, no complaints from me Battery life? - Not the best option, but I keep it at home anyway so its not an issue for me Set-up - Was a bit annoying, had to do it twice. Some cons - It gets hot, and the keyboard is a bit loud. Overall I like it as an engineering student. ... show more

  • This is a Winner!
I need super graphics ability for animations in Blender, the 3D authoring and animation software. This does it in spades! I render at at least 20 times what I used to do with an HP 4000 graphics chip. You will need to keep it plugged in for the NVidia chip to work, however. The fans will whine, but you'll be blown away with the performance. As a licensed pilot, I also fly X-Plane, and this machine has what it takes to get a frame rate up in the 40s. Be sure to get the latest NVidia driver, though. When it arrived, it kept crashing until I loaded the latest driver. ... show more

  • I chose G7 and got G7.
I chose G7and got G7. Undervolting the CPU is highly commanded. Mine runs way cooler now after undervolting. You will find how on YouTube. I overclocked the lcd now I am getting 68 Hz fresh rate ! Could not go over that. The LCD looks and feels way better now. You will find how on YouTube. Lastly , I could not use my wireless mouse for gaming cause of lagging and shuttering issues ! I switched to wired mouse instead. Just keep in mind that you might end up having the same problem ! Don't blame your LCD and refresh rate for that. Overall I think this is a really solid build laptop and looks COOL ! ... show more

  • Failed after 1mo
This PC failed after 1 mo. with hardware CPU Processor diagnostic errors. Cannot boot into windows because it fails its own hardware tests.

  • Get all the cables!
I excitedly opened the box ready to plug in the laptop so that it could charge but I couldn't. There was no cable going from the power supply to the electrical outlet. So much for charging the battery. I was just very fortunate that the laptop I am replacing (about a decade old at least) had a power cord that could connect from the power supply to the wall outlet. If you do not have a design like that from an old laptop, you are sunk. Also, I do not cross over my power supplies from one PC to another. That is not a good idea. I was just fortunate that all I needed was the cord. I was able to use the power supply that came with the laptop and my cord from my old laptop to the outlet. Apart from that disappointment was that no Product Key for Window 10 was provided. I was very fortunate that Dell Tech Support was able to walk me through a couple easy steps to Activate my Win 10. ... show more

  • High performance in a reliable build (G7)
This was pricy but well worth the cost. The performance is amazing, it runs modern games on ultra settings. The laptop is sturdy and physically well made, the screen looks good. The software ran smoothly and required almost no effort on my end to optimize(that's pretty rare). The custom keyboard lighting looks sharp and is easy on sensitive eyes. It's a sure thing for anyone that doesn't want to second guess a gaming laptop purchase. ... show more

  • Greatest laptop ever!!
I have been wanting to purchase a new laptop for school for quite some time. This laptop came loaded and ready to go right out of the box. The only thing I changed was I unloaded McAffee and loaded Norton. Runs and sounds great!
