  • Balance between money and what you get.
Style: Black
I chose the Dell G5 with the Nvidia 1650 Graphics, because of what you get for your money. Looked at the Reviews of other computers such as Lenovo, MSI and others. I got it between 3 of the computers. One was 200 dollars more with a 2020 Graphics card. Don't know if it was worth the money for that, I didn't think it was quite yet. I like games but, mostly play MMorpg and older games. This is well and above to push the max on those so, that is not a problem. Then it was between this and the MSI, The MSI did have better components but also $300 smackers more. Again. What is in this computer will push anything I am going to run on it in the next 5 years. For the components and price it was the Best for me at the time. I am using this just as a home computer. It is running a Sony A8G 65 inch TV. With the 2.1 Klipsch Speakers. All are better than anything I can imagine. I also decided to go with Dell. Because I have had to use Dell Customer Service before. Since I have experience in dealing with them. Because I know they have Good Customer Service. That also helped push my decision over the edge. Have not temped my computer. Has been running non-stop for about a week now. No problems. No signs of overheating. I am going to upgrade hard-drives here in about a year and maybe put more ram in. I plan on using the Computer for about 5 years. ... show more

  • Battery life sucks/can't operate at highest graphic for gaming efficiently
Style: Black
So I will say, for a gaming laptop it is decent. The battery sucks though. Dies within an hour depending on the type of gaming. I couldn't run COD Cold War at the highest graphics settings without a sufficient amount of lag. For other games with less emphasis on vide quality it is good though like Fall Guys, Rocket league, etc. I just bought Battlefront II and it works very well though. Would recommend if you cannot afford to build your own PC. ... show more

  • Great buy!
Style: Black
Very nice but it does die fast.... when plugged in the games run smoother as well....usually I wouldn't like it to be plugged in all the time, other than that a beautifuly solid computer

  • Dying in less than 2 years.
Style: Black
Mine is dying. I have had it less than 2 years. I am not a gamer. I'm just a housewife who likes to watch YouTube and Facebook. I can't believe I paid so much for it! I am constantly having to reboot it. I paid for Norton full coverage and have no clue why it's so glitchy and the mouse doesn't want to work. It keeps locking up. Plus, I get messages all the time from Dell about trade in availability. Ha Ha . I guess they know its a DUD! ... show more

  • When checking reviews look at Color Listed
Style: Black
First thing, look at the color for each review. The Black is for the lowest priced G5 and the Gray is for the highest priced G7. I saw a ton of great reviews that I later realized were for one that I was not thinking of purchasing. Now that that is out of the way, I bought the G5 as a work station and not for gaming. I regularly use Photoshop, Audition, After Effects, and Premiere and was struggling to find a computer that could handle using these without stalling, hanging up, or completely freezing up and crashing. Since the above eats resources like crazy I was shocked to see how well it performed but I guess I've just never put enough money into what I was buying. Just as a stress test I opened all 3 programs, ingested data into all and it didn't overheat, or get too bogged down. I was able to export an HD video and while doing so I edited audio in Audition without it skipping around or freezing. The fans did get loud but that died down after export. Sure, this may be overkill when it comes to content creation but when the turn around times are short having all this power to compete it quickly is great. Plus being able to create HD video quickly is awesome!! If you're debating whether or not you should go with a laptop on the pricey side, just buy the pricey one. In the 3 laptops I've bought and run through due to subpar components I spent more money than this 1 laptop cost. ... show more

  • Only lasted 13 months
Style: Black
The laptop worked great for the first 13 months. Gaming on it went well. Then 13 months later the computer started clicking while gaming, when it clicked the game lagged. Then it just stopped working all together. We were over the 1 year warranty by a month so we have no coverage. $1500+ down the drain. ... show more

  • Well worth the money!
Style: Black
It's solid, high quality, well built, fast, outstanding screen resolutions, a truly great buy. I have owned many different brands of laptops, including Dell, but this one ranks as one of the best. Reasonably long battery life. I don't like the increasing nosey aspect of activity tracking in Windows, but that a separate matter. There's no CHROME, but external types are always available and easily added. The keys are top notch. The number lock pad has no indication of being on except for what happens on screen when you type. ... show more

  • What’s really going on?
Style: Black
For whatever reason, this laptop often has a hard time displaying its screen. For a new laptop (used less than a week) I should not have this problem. Currently, I have my laptop on sleep mode. When I tried to use it, only the keyboard would light up. I’ve tried to turn it off and on, but that is a hassle within itself. I was able to turn it off, but then the same issues arouse, only this time all I could hear was the fan. The screen still wouldn’t display itself and my key board lit up. It’s fully charged by the way. It’s such a new and expensive laptop that I really wish I didn’t have to deal with these problems. I’m not sure what to do from here, but I’m already bummed out about. It eats up battery faster than I expected… but it’s typically swift with opening and running apps. I’m an instructor, I dabble with video editing software and I’m venturing into vr mediums, I’d love this machine to work without a glitch! ... show more
