For a 17" monitor, this is a great investment. It accepts VGA or DVI, with an optional 60 or 75 Hz refresh rate. The resolution is as good as it gets for a monitor of this size. It also has a 2-port USB hub built in, which can be used after connecting to an active USB port on your computer. This is very useful for applications including WiFi and wireless mouse/keyboard, if your desktop is underneath a desk or such that you have a weak signal. The height and angle of the screen is also adjustable, and it can be rotated by 90 degrees. As for the styling, I've always appreciated the aesthetics of a sleek monitor such as this one. I bought & received yesterday for a desktop at home to replace heavier old Dell monitor. It looked fine, after plugging and power in both this monitor and desktop, it made funny unrecognizable noice, showing system start-up then screen suddenly went blank while Microsoft Windows operating system started normal. I left the desktop on all night and day, took monitor to my office, it did with other normal working desktop same with same kind of noise,then screen went blank. I came back in evening and plugged my older heavier del l monitor to my computer and saw the normal functioning visible Windows desktop. This Dell 1980TO ultra shop monitor has few extra USBs and don't know whether it is driver or other hardware problem. Either I want replacement with high resolution19 inches flat monitor by returning back or money back as it is Not working even after testing with other my office computer. ***UPDATE I got refunded the item sale price and appreciate but the defective monitor ordered was useless for my need. ... show more

This is still a somewhat cheap and usable monitor if you can find nothing else... However, this was the most expensive Dell 1908 Model I purchased, and yet is by far the most rugged / least clean / poorest quality / darkest back light / most poorly packaged. I have the same monitors for a long time, The Dell 1908FP is NOT a WIDE its diagonal which is much better for standard work, although we can get today bigger screens, but if you need to fit in the space you have, and you like to have all monitors the same, it’s the best and crisp sharp It is worth every single penny paid for it It is the same as the Dell 2007FP but I need the 19” size and still same quality as the dell U2412M, or U2410 but in 19” or 20” you won’t go with the “WIDE” monitors, “DIAGONAL” is a MUST ... show more

I bought it because the USB sockets on my old one died. This monitor is a tad larger, but fits perfectly. The height adjustment is great. I do not use it for gaming.
