I ordered these decorative garden panels to use as part of my Halloween decorations because I liked how they look like a mini gothic fence. The fence itself looks nice in person, but unfortunately they are not well made. Many of the screw-in posts would not fit into the drilled holes provided or would screw in at an angle. The arrows at the top of several of the panels fell off when trying to attach them. I was able to piece them together well enough for this year’s decorations, but do not anticipate using them again. The media could not be loaded. I would recommend this garden fence for someone who is looking for something SIMPLE with an EASY setup but also beautiful while maintaining it's appearance during the change of seasons. I live in California so I hope this gives you some idea of the type of climate they are subject to...I'm not sure how these would hold up in drastic climates but for sunny, rainy and windy days these were sturdy and did NOT get any rust build up, so I am happy about that! The package came with 7 beautiful black matte panels, metal stakes (also black in color), 14 arrows (2 for each panel) and black zip ties, which at first glance I was apprehensive about the zipties, but after installation, I realized it's actually a clever idea to keep the panels close together, evenly. Each panel had 2 holes on the top for the "arrows" to slide in, and 2 holes on the bottom for the stakes. The only problem I had was I found it difficult to screw a couple of the stakes in and the panels are made with a bendy type of metal. When I was trying to hold the panel to screw in the stakes and arrows, I slightly bent the inner heart decoration part but I was able to easily bend it back. Watch my video of the final product! There are two sets of vertical pieces — one that goes into the ground as a spike and a rod that should make this a bit sturdier, as it goes top to bottom of one piece. Not convinced they do much, and the alignment is off. When trying to install the latter, I find that the decorative curls literally block the path the rod must go through — I had to bend them out of the way to install (1st pic). The stakes screw in — not great screws (a bit tricky to align, especially with the decorative parts in the way. You may or may not manage to get them all in. I had forgotten the fence pieces don’t attach to each other — you get a little package of zip ties to connect them. A very cheap fix, in my opinion. Not sturdy at all. If you ever have to separate them, you have to cut the ties — they are not reusable. I got these to give a little climbing support for my morning glory — it’s always a bit tricky to get them started climbing in the spring, as I grow them against a fence with nothing to grip. These will still help, but I’ll only use them on the inside edge of the fence where they won’t be visible to others. They certainly wouldn’t keep out any animals. I don’t know of anything I’d recommend them for — as I said, they’ll be ok for my use, but I wouldn’t spend more that 5 bucks maybe. ... show more

    • Super affordable way to keep my raised bed safe from chickens

I’ve had problems with my chickens digging up my gardens. I built yet another raised bed and got these fencing pieces to decoratively keep my hens out. These fence pieces are super low priced for 10 feet worth of fencing. I had to put them together by screwing on the flour de lis and the ground spikes, only one was too filled with paint that I had to mess with it to get it to go in. I did not use the connectors so so can’t really speak to those. I find these fence pieces really attractive and so far they have kept the chickens out (though not squirrels) so I am very happy with them especially for the price.     • Poor quality, arrived broken and bent, misaligned holes. Shoddy workmanship. Flimsy.
I am disappointed. Two of the welds were broken off. Several of the decorative scrollwork wires are bent. Several holes where the rods go through are misaligned. The decorative tips are hollow which would have been fine but they are made of two formed pieces which are not lined up well so some are crooked. The holes where the stake rods for inserting into the ground are not well threaded and are difficult to screw the rods into. Overall the segments seem a bit flimsy compared to the photographs. Listing mentions dogs implying these will contain a dog. Perhaps a small puppy or the smallest of breeds but not the dogs photographed which I predict would simply topple this kind of "fence" right over. These should ONLY be used as decorative borders. Do not expect them to hold back any animal. The animals too weak to knock it over would slip right in between the wires. Finally, it mentions that you get cable ties. These are quite thin and while I have no doubt they will hold the fence sections together if used for decoration only, don't expect them to hold up to any animal determined to get through. Luckily I am a machinist so it will be less trouble for me to repair the defects than to return this item. I will also be using stronger cable ties that I will supply myself. If this had been manufactured correctly and had they supplied stronger cable ties I would say this would be worth the price of $30. But it is not. Had I seen this as I received it, for sale at a thrift store I would have been OK paying $10 for it. I cannot recommend this item until they fix their quality control issues. ... show more
