So soda is a guilty pleasure. Cherry Coke is a favorite. I rarely eat out, but sometimes for work I end up at restaurants that don't have Cherry Coke or Cherry Pepsi and they'd say "but we can add grenadine" and somehow that made it fancier and the cherry-ness was so much more pronounced. But I'm getting older and downing a whole soda at lunch is generally not a good idea. But each night at home my 20-something son will have a soda and he gives me his first drink. It was his idea to buy grenadine for at home to cherry-up stuff - 7Up, Spring, Cream Soda, Coke, Pepsi, doesn't matter, it's better with grenadine. I got lavender, rose, and vanilla. So far I’ve tried the first two and they are delicious. I make my own soda, just mixing a flavor with club soda. If I want it a little sweeter I’ll add some vanilla (making it double delicious). I decided to try out DaVinci instead of ordering more Torani. I’m finishing up my Torani vanilla now. I wanted to add a note for those who are sensitive to histamine, sulfite, or ammonia: The lavender was so good that I had 2x 8oz glasses with approx 6tbsp total when it arrived yesterday. I was very surprised when out of nowhere I had sleep problems last night, waking up after 1 hour and then stuck awake sneezing with a runny nose for hours. Finally got back to sleep with some quercetin, fexofenadine, and maybe niacin, but it was a bad night. I didn’t feel better until 16 hours later upon taking a beef thyroid supplement (not sure how relevant that is to the syrup though). I haven’t had a major histamine issue like this in ages, so just a fair warning. I don’t think I had any issues earlier in the day either, so maybe it was just the large quantity I consumed that overfilled my precious histamine bucket. That said, I suppose this situation was “better” than with the Torani syrups which have “caramel coloring,” which is not caramel at all but something synthetic ("Caramel IV") comprised of ammonia + sulfite, both of which I have major issues with, way worse than histamine. So I can’t catch a break no matter which flavor/brand I choose! Only (Torani) vanilla has been without issue for me. Interesting that the DaVincis I got so far don’t have caramel coloring (haven’t checked the other flavors), so I guess that’s a plus in terms of quality. For me, it is what it is. I juggle balancing a few health conditions, especially high ammonia which makes drinking normal soda impossible. That’s like ammonia in a can (or rather, a can causes super high ammonia in me for some reason). I take ornithine/arginine/yucca to combat ammonia. Yet I LOVE soda. (I learned that craving the fizz is sometimes indicative of needing bicarbonate for my pH issues.) So I traded toxic name-brand soda for homemade flavored club soda, and if I have to take some antihistamines so be it. It’s better than what it could be, and better than not having any soda to drink at all! EDIT OCTOBER 2024: FALSE ALERT! It appears my histamine attack was bad timing with having taken B6 or something right before I got my first DaVinci bottles. I have not had ANY ill effect from rose/lavender/vanilla since that one episode. I’ve just now ordered several more flavors. I’m very happy to have this option over “caramel color” Torani. It’s not just cheaper, but in my case (being sensitive to sulfites and ammonia) it’s profoundly healthier. Sure there’s sugar etc. Whatever. We flavor-seekers know what we’re getting into. I’m just glad there turned out to be NO recurring histamine episodes. ... show more

A tablespoon of DaVinci Butterscotch Syrup, a teaspoon of Watkins Butter Essence, a quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a bottle of cream soda make a delicious and very passable batch of butterbeer (as can only be found in Universal Studios' "Wizarding World of Harry Potter.") I've tried the stuff you can buy online, but it's just not the same thing, and Universal doesn't sell their butterbeer outside their parks - at least not that I could find. (You can probably use any cream soda - all I had available was Sprecher.) ... show more

I bought 2 bottles of this DaVinci Gourmet Classic Egg Nog Syrup, 25.4 Fluid Ounces (Pack of 1). WHY I ORDERED THESE: - I totally love, Love, LOVE Egg Nog! - I also love adding Egg Nog in my morning coffee during the Holiday season, instead of my usual Half-n-Half. - But, with the outrageous $13 price this year for just a half-gallon of Egg Nog at our local small town market, I decided to try this DaVinci Gourmet Classic Egg Nog Syrup in with my my usual Half-n-Half for my coffee instead. THE GOOD STUFF ABOUT THESE SYRUPS: - Yummy, yummy! This Syrup really does taste like Egg Nog in my coffee! - It also tastes good in hot milk to make a Faux Egg Nog drink too! - Here is where this gets really yummy... - Add some Egg Nog Flavored Syrup to your beaten egg and milk mixture for delicious French Toast! - Great to add a splash of this in with our Pancake Batter too! THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF ABOUT THESE SYRUPS: - It seems that we have to add at least TWICE as much of this DaVinci Gourmet Classic Egg Nog Syrup into our hot drinks and for cooking. - We have to use so much more of this syrup that we ever used with other brands, so 1 star off for that! - WOW, this stuff is bright with the artificial dye, and it stains! - This Syrup still does have a few preservatives in it, but probably less than most of the other brands. CONCLUSION: - Even though I am not so hot with the preservatives and bright color in my drinks, we do really LOVE that delicious Egg Nog flavor! - This DaVinci Gourmet Classic Egg Nog Syrup his will be fine for us during the Holidays. For someone who doesn't enjoy the journey of exploring fake flavors, I LOVE this syrup. I never buy flavored stuff, and have a hard time liking things that are unnatural, but this syrup is perfect and tastes just like real German Chocolate cake with the coconut pecan frosting... So much YES! All I do is put one spoonful in my coffee, or even a glass of milk, and there you go! Not much, and it's perfect. Thank you so much! Well worth it, and highly recommended! ... show more

While we were in Mexico we tried this drink called Azulitos and so we purchased everything we needed while there however we forgot the flavor; while in the airport we ordered this syrup and OMG it didn’t disappoint!!! I even added it to my Sprite to make it have a different flavor and it is so delicious. There is multiple ways you could use this maybe to make icy drinks or slushies. It isn’t expensive and it doesn’t take much of it to add an amazing taste. Highly recommend. ... show more
