I live in Florida and there's a lot of moisture, I hate the smell of the house when it gets musty from humidity. For several years I've been going away for a month on vacation. Many people leave their A/C on low when they go away, but I would worry the house may catch on fire. Usually when I went away and came home the house smelled really musty. Then I found out about DampRid. Last time before I went away on vacation for a month, I bought half a dozen pots (the cheapest kind) of DampRid, and put them in the rooms, and also put scented sachets around the house. When I got home after my vacation, the house smelled lovely, and there was no damp from the humidity, instead the pots of water, with DampRid that was still working. I've been using it for a few years now, it really works well. Recently I bought this DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber to put in my closet, I've been using it for a week and have noticed a difference, it's not overpowering at all, just a gentle pleasent clean whiff! The top part of the product (under the hanger) has the DampRid in it. Then there's a flat area undernieth that the moisture drips into. Already there's about an inch of liquid that had dripped down. I was worried there would be a mess, but it is all contained. To think the moisture would have been on my clothes without this. I've ordered several more of these because I don't want to be without them. Three in a box is a better buy than buying them individually. **UPDATE** I paid $7.97 only just recently, I just noticed it's gone up in price already to $19.55, I thought I was seeing things. I'm glad I got it when I did, I would never pay that much, I would get the cheap ones in the pots they are as good but if they tip over they could be messy, just have to be careful. ... show more

The scent is perfect, detectable but not overpowering. The hang-up bag is perfect. I use one in my car, my closet, and the bathroom. I buy these religiously because Texas humidity is the worst. These are easy to use, excellent price. Worth every penny. I love these way better then the tubs you just sit out. I just love the hangable functionality. I do, however, recommend the unscented version for the pantry. I'm a chef and caterer, so I need it dry as possible in there to retard funkyness or spoilage. I started using these hanging moisture absorbers in my shower to cut down on mildew. Since moving to a more humid climate, I now use DampRid all around my house. They are in every closet, still in the shower stall, and the refillable containers are sitting in every single cabinet and cupboard. I had never tried the Lavender Vanilla scent until now and I love it! I already liked the Fresh Scent and was surprised by how much I enjoyed this new fragrance. Normally I'm very sensitive to smells and tend to dislike lavender in general, but this was very nice. Even though I have also purchased electronic dehumidifiers to use in my bathroom and kitchen, I still like the convenience of being able to hang one of these wherever I want. I love this product! I'm totally OCD, and in a blur of confusion with my kids, left my truck windows open and a HUGE rainstorm came. I used a hairdryer to knock out most of the moisture, but when I opened the door, I could feel the wetness still in it. I popped this into my truck, and within a few hours, could tell a difference (I ziptied it to the clothes hook on the back of the truck cab so it wouldn't fall and bust). Today, a week later, I've got a nice little collection of water in the base, a dry feeling in my truck surfaces and in the air of the cab with windows closed, and it has left a nice fresh scent in my truck! I recently moved into an older apt. and the bathroom smelled Horrible. I asked my friend who lived there before me and he said it was like that when he moved in and just keeps the door closed so the smell doesn't travel. I tried air fresheners and they didn't help at all. Then I figured it must be a moisture/mildew situation. I got these and hung one on my towel rack and a week later the smell was gone! I'm on the second one now. I'm amazed at the results and will continue buying these for the bathroom. Then lavender smell is pretty strong at first, but after a week or two, it becomes subtle. Edit: I recently bought the "Fresh Scent" as it was at Target when I was shopping and a couple bucks cheaper. The fresh scent smells like a public restroom :(. I will not buy that scent again.
