I bought these boots for metal detecting in the fields and woods. I need a boot with some traction and that fit well, plus the cost is tolerable. I normally wear a size 8.5 wide in a shoe so I got these in a 9 and they fit me perfectly. They even have some arch support.

The MAIN reason I'm giving these boots 4 stars is because they weren't slip-resistant for me. I work in a cold/wet warehouse environment and although they hold up pretty well on the production floors, they are a bit slippery if I walk into a freshly mopped bathroom or hallway. Pros: They are warm. They are insulated to the point where only one pair of socks will suffice. Any extra socks will make the boots painful. They kept my feet dry. They're cute AND comfy enough. Cons: 0 arch support. I have SUPER high arches and the insole that comes with the boot have no support there. Only somewhat slip resistant. Less slippery than my Sorel winter boots but still a little slippery nonetheless. Warm BUT, by hour 5 of my 8 hour shift, my feet did start to get a little chilly. They are worth the price cut if you're okay with the pros and cons. I'm keeping mine and would still recommend them to others. ... show more

They do the same job as mucks but way more comfortable and much lighter. My only issue is the foot inserts do not stay put. I had to buy different ones.
