I've had a thing for SGs since I began playing in 1970, and I am a longtime Schaller straplock user (since mid-70s), but always had an issue with the backside strap buttons on SGs, the added length from the Schaller locks made them poke me in the chest and I find it very annoying. I went to Dunlops, which have lower profile and which helped somewhat, but did not eliminate it. I decided to try some of these and they seem to do the trick so far. These worked just fine with my 2015 Gibson SG Standard, but when I put another set on another one of my SGs, an Epi 61 Custom reissue, the buttons seem a little shorter than the Gibby, and the suede strap was a bit thicker, so the lock would not slip on into locked position. I dug an old Comfort Strapp out of my bag o'straps with slightly thinner plain ends and it worked fine and the strap also does not slip, as SGs in general are pretty much all neck-heavy, so I like to use padded or suede straps to stop them from slipping and neckdiving. Now I need to pick up a few more for my other SGs... ... show more

This item allows you to lock your strap without having to modify your guitar, or mess with those rubber rings. It is easy to install and remove. It also can even hold your cable. The price is great for what this does.

Extremely simple and cheap way to secure your guitar straps. If you're lazy like I am and can't be bothered to install a whole different system that involves screwing and unscrewing, then get this. Takes less than 1 minute to install and remove if need be. Can't beat the price either

Based on the price, it's 100/100. It's plastic and I'll never use the cord holder feature. Those are the only two detractors. But it covers a large amount of space so you just know the strap isn't going to come off. It was also just as easy to install as you would expect. Lift up the tab, slide it on, let go of the tab. It's very snugly in place after that. I got these on sale, delivered, for $3.49. If it were still the usual $9.99, my review would be the same. There's probably a metal version of this somewhere that's more durable. But this is an awesome pair of under $10 strap locks. ... show more
