  • This gasket can save you a bunch of extra money along the way
Reviewed as applies to VVC solenoid and alternator on 2015 Honda Odyssey EX-L... But probably applies across many years and models of Honda/Acura vehicles with the 3.5L v6 engine. As small of a gasket as this is... The OEM gasket inside of my Variable Valve Timing solenoid going bad cost me an alternator replacement. When the old gasket goes bad it will allow oil from the cylinder head to escape and ooze it's way straight down into the alternator. You will see signs of oil in your engine bay, look for leaks just above the alternator and down below it on the engine cradle. This gasket is not recognized as a part number by the dealer's Parts Departments, as their OEM gasket only comes included with buying a new solenoid as well - mine was quoted at 230 dollars I bought and installed this gasket. Installation was pretty easy and it fixed the leak that destroyed my alternator. For those of you who lost an alternator to this little solenoid, the saving grace is that the solenoid and gasket replacement are 100% in line with the process of getting down to the alternator anyways, so do yourself a favor. If you are changing out an alternator anyway and have some decent mileage on your car, get this gasket and just do it since it's only about 3 minutes of extra labor along the same teardown path. ... show more

  • Very poor quality
Overall a horrible peice of junk. The screen is too large to fit in the solenoid, and the diameter of the rubber used is too large to fit in its corresponding groove. It's low temp silicone, it doesn't fit, and 1 of them does not fit this application. HORRIBLE

Súper buena calidad y la cantidad de dinero que ahorre comparado con la parte original que te la venden toda completa cuando el problema es el empaque 300 dólar

  • Screen caused problems. Fixable though.
The orings seal fine, but the screen is sized wrong and caused all kinds of codes and problems with the VVT system. Took a while to figure out it was the screen that doesn't flow well enough. You can swap your old screen on if you know in advance(I pitched mine and didn't figure the problems out til after trash day!). ... show more

  • Keep your old metal filter the new one doesn't work!
Don't use the little screen that comes with these gaskets. Save the old one! It will cause a bunch of issues because it doesn't allow the same amount of oil flow. You will get a check engine light and your car will run very rough.
