I customized it a bit to make it "rock-and-roll" and put a Brooklyn Bridge picture in the exterior window. So a few things. I like the instruction manual it’s easy to follow. My only complaint is that unlike other nook books that have books, is that it requires you to individually glue 61 little books. Now What I would recommend to anybody if you were to buy any of the Nook books where you would need to glue vs sticker is to buy some two sided sticker of paper so it’ll stick to the back of the paper and you can apply it without all the messy glue and that would just speed up the process It It does not have a sensor, which I would love because those are cool and they light up when you pass. I would say this is definitely a teenager to adult and patience. I had to use the little file in there to do some sanding of things that didn’t easily snap in I would suggest you take your time and make sure are you might actually break pieces Lastly I recommend beacon glue or the nearly art precision glue. The media could not be loaded. I started this at 8pm, and finished at midnight. Worked alone and didn’t stop. It was tons of fun. I have big hands and found some of the pieces harder to put in than others. YOU NEED GLUE. I couldn’t find this anywhere, so let me tell you, some parts require glue. I didn’t have any other than super glue, and it worked fine, though I’m sure crafting glue would have been better, but oh well. It’s worth every penny. The lighting is simple and easy to install. The directions are not too bad. Made in China. However, you will need glue and a magnifying glass to see how to wire the lights. Be cautious of the fine delicate pieces as they break easily. I may make a few 3D pieces for the project like the plant is 2D as is the dog. May try to find a 3D one. But fun project. A note on the folding books. With the strip in front of you, make the first fold from left to right. The white back should cover the 2nd printed page. As you fold you'll end up with the white back on both front and back. This was an absolute blast to assemble. Pieces are well made and easy to assemble, just takes time! U used super glue and that worked quite well as the kit does not include glue. The only thing I would have liked to know is that you’ll need wood glue. I really enjoyed this project, so much so that I ordered two more!!! Totally addictive!!! Took me maybe 10-12 hours to put it together, mainly because I looked for other items to put together while the glue dried, then had multiple small items I would toggle between so that I was always working on something and not twiddling my thumbs. Tweezers, toothpicks, and a small paintbrush to apply the glue are also a must! ... show more

This is the easiest kit my husband and I have put together. It was nice to start shaping up the rooms from the start - not fluffing around with the books for the first hour. (Although if you don't follow the instructions I suppose that's not a problem, you'd do it in any order you wanted). We found the pieces didn't snap apart as readily as other kits, but once out they fit together easily. I LOVE the dust cover and the sky light! The only negative is that there isn't a sensor on the battery, unlike my other booknooks. For this option you do have to manually turn the lighting on and off. ... show more
