The small and mighty 40700HC benchtop planer may be diminutive in size but housed inside is a powerful 15-AMP motor with a cutterhead speed of 10,000 RPM. When lugging around an overweight planer won't do, the 56 lbs 40700HC planer can handle boards up to 12-1/2” wide and 6" thick. Like its big brother, this guy has the same spiral cutterhead with 24 indexable 2-sided inserts to ensure a smooth finish time after time. The new board return rollers make transfering the board back to the front a breeze.

    • Best paint remover and plainer for the money
The media could not be loaded. Restoring an old 100 year old home. This thing is a must have when doing a restoration. The radial blades make short work of getting the trim boards back in shape. Make sure all nails are removed before feeding the boards in!

    • Spend the time to set it up perfect.
This worked pretty good for a mobile planer. It was quite accurate after I spent the time to level the retractable tables, which was setup close but needed about 10 mins of adjusting to get it perfect. No cupping at all after I adjusted it, but there was cupping before I adjusted. It will make a great addition to my wood works! I never tried the spiral cutting planers before, it really does a good job on the wood I work with. Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, and Hemlock, from my Saw Mill. I was taking very thin cuts, and the finished product was great, much better than I thought it would be. Moisture meter showed my wood was about 11-12 on the wood. No sanding needed so far. ... show more
