I am very impressed with this kit, the instruction book that came with it included glossy color photos of every step. The laser cut wood pieces also include a few extras just in case you break something (not a TON of wiggle room with pieces, but the little bit of slack is nice for reason I'll get into!), and are very easy to clean up the snap-points using the emory board provided (instructions call it a frosted bar). You'll want to get a medium-fast drying glue that forgives you if you don't immediately stick something down in the right place, but will also dry fast enough that you aren't stuck waiting for your glue to dry for hours. Many parts of the kit have their specific location shown on the piece they connect to - see my third picture where the rectangles of the supports are outline so you know right where to stick something without measurements. Most of the kit you can get by without measurements at all, it is very intuitive! One part where you may want to break out a ruler and an exacto-knife is the fine paper for the lamps, which are in my opinion the most frustrating piece of the kit. They don't go together how you think they do. On my kit I used some of the extra red paper to make something akin to flames licking up the 'logs' of the fire, but it also looks great if you don't do that. I also used some of the extra pieces of the kit to make a frame on the bottom to hold the drawer in place so that it is one single piece you can (delicately) pick up. You can see those a little in the 'daylit' picture I've attached, which I did because I didn't like that the drawer isn't attached to the structure at all. If you are getting this kit for yourself as an adult I don't think you'll have any issues assembling it. The order of every step mostly ensures that you're never stuck trying to cram your hand into a too-small area that you can't see. The exceptions are probably the ceiling pieces, which I recommend going a little out of order to assemble, glue, and then snap into place on the general structure. The instructional book asks you to add the ceiling pieces after you've snapped the ceiling into place which would be quite hard. The other exception is the placement of the cat. As the instructions have it you would slightly obscure the cat's features/details and also have to fight the sliding doors - I recommend gluing the cat to the further back floor track at the same time you lay the floor track down to be glued. Then the cat is already in place when you put in the doors and the forward floor track. If you are getting this for a kid there are many pieces that I found difficult to snap free without an exacto-knife and there are some delicate balancing acts with pieces like the fire pit, chairs, and lamps that may require some additional assistance. I’m rating this 5 starts just so people will see it, and won’t have to go through the irritation I did. I got 2 j panels and no F, so after looking forward to doing this all week, I had to stop at literally the 3rd step. To get replacements or parts you have to contact the company, and their customer service has limited availability. This is an unacceptable issue for a product that costs almost $50. I won’t be ordering from this company again. UPDATE: I contacted the company to ask for a replacement piece and they told me to talk to Amazon. Amazon doesn’t manufacture the product, and they aren’t the ones who put the wrong piece in the box. ... show more

I was a little skeptical of this kit, since I didn't think there was any way all of the pieces were full color and 3D like the pictures, but I stand corrected! First time ever doing a book nook & it was a very pleasing experience! I have since completed 3 more nooks. The instructions were perfect. This brand (CuteBee) is by far the best. I have received 1 nook from another brand that was missing the instructions and it’s impossible to put together.

Directions a bit confusing. There is some trial and error. Some stuff broke from the amount of force needed but I was able to fix everything Only real complaint is that my son wanted to help but it is WAY too difficult for a five year old! I really like this the touch button works great so far
