This was my second book nook and the difference was huge. This product is HEAVY, with extremely sturdy wood. I put it together in one evening and the product is beautiful. I wish it was a bit more difficult to put together, to be honest! I feel like you could give this to a grade schooler and they could build it just fine. Pros: - So easy to build, a young kid could do it. - Super thick and sturdy pieces. You won't have a single broken part. - Uses wax paper for the backdrop, which makes a nice frosty effect! - There are a handful of extra props- like the smoke pipe, ink bottle, books, etc. so you can add a little bit of personality. - The battery box is cutely hidden on the top underneath a little lid. The lid is held down by a pretty wooden latch. Cons: - Most of the interesting props are 2D- like the oil lamp, the captain's hat, hourglass, gramophone, toy boat, inkwell, telescope, etc. It makes everything feel a bit flat. - Because the parts are so thick and sturdy, they can be a bit hard to push the main side boards together. Wiggle it until it fits, because it's a PERFECT fit. The props, however, are so loosely fit together that you have to glue them to keep them still. - It feels a little simple considering it's priced higher than most book nooks. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We bought this for our 15 year old daughter for Christmas and she just put it together quite easily. It took her a couple good hours. Sturdy product. I was worried that it would be flimsy but it’s totally solid. We’re definitely buying some more of these. I think a few different ones will look awesome throughout the shelves. ... show more

It has done its job well and despite being clumsy and dripping my phone multiple times a day, I have not incurred a scratch or break on my iPhone! This is hands down the best bang for your buck phone case! Works with mag chargers.

Literally cannot recommend this brand enough, they are so much fun to put together and add something beautiful to your bookshelves. I've never really had an issue with any of the book nooks I bought from them.

ordered this for my 13 year old grandson and he pretty much finished it in about three days. He loved putting it together and it looks like the advertisement presents it. Very pleased with the final product and it is challenging but in a good way. You will need to get a good glue and some tweezers , small pliers and a razor cutter or scissors to cut the images out and handle some of the smaller details. We have others that we haven't put together yet..... Excited to see how they turn out.. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I had so much fun putting this together and the instructions were so easy to follow. I had never really done any kind of model making or building anything like this before, but I had no problem understanding how to piece it all together. I did it bit by bit over a few weeks and enjoyed every minute of it! The pieces were easy to punch out and the kit even came with a little file to smooth down any rough edges. I ended up painting the little cat so look more like my own, but other than that, I didn't make any other modifications. It's definitely more than I would spend on a cute crafty project, but by the end, I felt like the money was totally worth it. I was pleased with how high quality it was and the end result makes me so happy to see on my bookshelf! ... show more

Truly xceeded my expectations. I ordered this as a gift for Mother. Shes an avid book collector and I thought it would be a cool addition to her library. It came neatly & efficiently packaged, the directions were sufficient (directions could have been better..but we're adequate) & included everything needed except for the battery for the lights & the glue. I used an all purpose clear glue. It took me a couple of evenings working for about an hour and half 2 hours at a time and turned out beautifully. So fun. Lovely gift..and I look forward to ordering more. I may have found a new hobby. ... show more
