I have been an amateur photographer for years but have always printed my pieces at home on an oversize printer. That means buying my own papers, ink, mats and frames. The cost of the canvas I ordered was less than I could do at home, thanks to a 25% off sale, so I decided to take a chance. I was nervous that the texture of the canvas would not be suitable for a photo as opposed to a painting and that the colors would be a lot different than what I see on my screen at home. (I use Photoshop to edit my photos.) I am pleased to report that the results were quite good — good enough that I ordered a second 24x18 canvas! My tip for anyone who submits a photo is to ensure the image is submitted at 300DPI resolution. Screen resolution is only 72DPI — meaning anything off of your camera, tablet or the Internet will not be the correct resolution for print even if the original photo was taken with a high-end digital camera or smartphone. Photoshop Elements or similar program can be used to first scale your photo to a size corresponding to the desired size offered by the seller. IF YOU CROP A PHOTO, SET THE CROP RESOLUTION TO 300DPI. Do not make any further adjustments to the image until you complete this step. If you intend to make any significant edits to your photo to brighten the image or improve the color or contrast, here's another tip: Color-calibrate your laptop or desktop display BEFORE you open your photo in a photo editing application. Normally calibration tools are built in to the operating system for most computers but you will want to complete the calibration setup before you make any edits to your photos. In this way, you will have a more accurate idea of how the finished product will appear. The canvasses I received arrived very well protected in shipping and were finished nicely on the back for hanging (with hook for vertical or horizontal hanging).
