This frame is very nice looking and smartly made. They do a few things to keep it cost effective, all of which work to add up to a nice product. They make the wood part out of composite material. (It still looks nice.) They use thin plexiglass instead of glass. This is an advantage as it makes the frame very light. They use a piece of cardboard for the backing. Who cares? No one can see it. And, finally, it comes with mounting hardware, but you have to attach it to the frame yourself. The plexi came covered with protective sheets on both sides so it was in pristine condition. Three of the corners are a tiny bit off kilter - you can't see the imperfections, but you can feel it with your fingers. Overall, a GREAT deal for the cost! They offer the frame in a variety of sizes and colors. We will definitely be buying more. ... show more

I've purchased from Craig Frames a few times (twice via Amazon). It's always been exactly to order, and as expected. It's a particle board or high-density cardboard as the interior with a wrapped design. The distressed look appears genuine, and the quality of all frames resembles real wood (unless closely inspected). The frames I have purchased (all larger) have had a plastic insert where glass would otherwise be, and while I prefer the clarity of glass, I've barely noticed the difference. I subtracted one star because two of my frames weren't adjoined perfectly, there is a slight gap at at-least one of the corners. It's relatively small, so I kept the frame. ... show more

Given the relatively low price for this frame, I obviously didn't expect a premium product with high standards of craftsmanship, and my expectations weren't exceeded. The frame arrived packaged securely in a cardboard box that protected it well from dings and other damage during shipping. The quality of the paint finish is okay; again, we're not talking top-of-the-line product here. However, the quality of construction is poor; the frame's mitered corners are stapled together, and it wasn't done well. You can look through the miter seams on every corner and see daylight through them. I estimate the gap is about 1/16 of an inch at the widest. I guess there might be a category of use for these - if you want to put a cheap print or photo on the wall to decorate a dimly lighted back hallway or seldom-used guest room, for example, this frame would be a candidate. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised with the look of the frame. The packaging was very solid and it would be hard to bend (although some shippers make it a point to bend these packages). The frame and plexiglass was light and the corners were sturdy and solid. Great product for the price.

This frame fits perfectly pictures of the size it is made for. It will not fit snugly pictures of other sizes. The contents of the picture matter not, as it will fit equally well pictures of your mother, your pets or even a landscape if positioned appropriately.

    • The plastic glass cover cause sun glare to see the picture

I needed frames at the last minute and the regular frames and a Joanne's or Michaels didnt have the size I needed. I would have had to special order which I know would have costed me a lot more. The frames are ok but do look a little cheep. Also the plastic glass really causes the picture to be difficult to see if sun is angled at it wrong. It just glares back and looses the picture that its suppose to show off ... show more

    • Look amazing, made kinda cheap

I've got a lot of these, they look amazing. Quality is a little lax, the corners sometimes have a little gap, and they're not sturdy but you can't beat the look for the price. Some have Cole with damaged Plexi, bit they have sent us new ones and allowed us to keep the damaged ones. So no complaints.
