I was pleasantly surprised with the look of the frame. The packaging was very solid and it would be hard to bend (although some shippers make it a point to bend these packages). The frame and plexiglass was light and the corners were sturdy and solid. Great product for the price.

I've got a lot of these, they look amazing. Quality is a little lax, the corners sometimes have a little gap, and they're not sturdy but you can't beat the look for the price. Some have Cole with damaged Plexi, bit they have sent us new ones and allowed us to keep the damaged ones. So no complaints.

The first thing to keep in mind is that this is NOT a wood frame and it does NOT have glass. It is a compressed particle paper that is very lightweight with a thin veneer of film that looks like wood (from a distance). I bought this frame because it was an unusual size (24"x24") which is virtually impossible to find unless you get custom framing at considerable expense. Now that I bought it, I realize I probably would be better off with the authentic (yet expensive) frame. First, kudos to Craig Frames for sending the frame fully assembled, in a large box that ensured the frame was not scratched, dented or damaged in any way. Very good packaging. The Frame "glass" has a super thin protective film over BOTH sides. It takes a little care to pull both sides off without putting fingerprints on the plexiglass. The "wood" frame is a dense cardboard with the dents and distress printed as an image on the outside part of the frame. The inside part of the frame (facing the wall) is just cardboard color. The frame comes with a hanging kit that has a long wall nail, a flexible stainless steel cable, two triangle hangers for the cable, a metal hook, and I swear there were two tiny screws for the triangle hangers, but one either disappeared or was never there. But you need two -- I had one. The stainless cord for hanging is easy to cut with kitchen shears or wire snips. The backing is a piece of cardboard held in place with several tiny metal thumbs that are fixed into the frame "wood." It's IKEA style. Nothing fancy, but seems to work. After you remove the cardboard backing (which literally is just a piece of cardboard cut to the size of the frame), you can remove the plexiglass film from both sides, put in your print, close the metal thumbs, affix the hanging gear, put nail in wall, hang the frame. It really is that simple. Other than being stumped for a moment on how to affix the hanging gear, and the dexterity to get my print to stay in place as I put the backing back on and close the thumbs, it took about 15 minutes total to get it on the wall. I still appreciate the simplicity of the frame, and the well done shipping (which was at cost, so I paid for the service), but it IS a light frame that no one will mistake as a fancy custom job. But at a fraction of the price for a "real" wood frame in such a rare size, I guess I got what I paid for. ... show more

This frame is very nice looking and smartly made. They do a few things to keep it cost effective, all of which work to add up to a nice product. They make the wood part out of composite material. (It still looks nice.) They use thin plexiglass instead of glass. This is an advantage as it makes the frame very light. They use a piece of cardboard for the backing. Who cares? No one can see it. And, finally, it comes with mounting hardware, but you have to attach it to the frame yourself. The plexi came covered with protective sheets on both sides so it was in pristine condition. Three of the corners are a tiny bit off kilter - you can't see the imperfections, but you can feel it with your fingers. Overall, a GREAT deal for the cost! They offer the frame in a variety of sizes and colors. We will definitely be buying more. ... show more
