At my age I am preparing hobbies for retirement years, I found this violin with good review so I want to give it a try. I was so excited to open this box for my new purple violin. When I opened the box and then the case, I was very disappointed to see that my violin was broken. The strings were completely pulled out of the violin. I purchased 2 , one for my daughter and one for me. My daughter’s violin was beautiful & good, my violin was beautiful & not good . ... show more

    • Great for beginners with passion
The media could not be loaded. I have played for 20 years so Im a bit picky. When my 3yr old begged to play and then begged for 2 more years I decided to give this violin a shot for her to begin lessons as a bday gift. Decent price, it's NOT a toy, and looks like mine. I was expecting it to sound a bit off but I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful sound and the quality. They even emailed extra downloadable instructions and tips. She had wanted a sparkly violin but nothing was her size. We got vinyl removable stickers safe for her violin and she is absolutely in love. For younger ones I recommend a bow right guard and bow hold buddy. The bow is alright (make sure to rosin it really well) but I may purchase a separate one, just because I like sparkly carbon bows. This might be OK if your kid wants to treat it as a toy, but our violin teacher rejected it as a "VSO" Violin Shaped Object and we had to get a real violin. It was interesting, it sounded ok at first, but directly compared to a real wood violin, it sounded tinny and sad.

    • You get what you pay for
I'm not a fiddle player. So maybe for 80 bucks or whatever it costs, its sufficient. Mine came with lose parts on the fiddle itself. The strings were off the bridge pushed to the sides. The bottom pickup i guess you would call it ? The fine tune thing is very lose, moves side to side after strings are tight. Thought it was just black, it has glitter in the finish. I will say. It came in a awesome case. Packaged with care. Also comes with everything you need to get started, literally everything.
