Top Amazon Reviews

  • Part review, part design solutions for the company.
Pros: - You get what you see. No false advertising here. - Quality. The thing is big, sturdy enough, and easy on the wrists thanks to the slightly curved edges on the bottom side. The foam and cloth cover are both decent quality, you won't have foam bits flying all over or staying deflated. - Size. It can fit a 17" Razer Blade laptop, mouse, and Razer Tartarus (a gaming keyboard) without issue. - Gaming. Not exactly a "pro" as gaming isn't a feature (the term holds no intrinsic value related to the product), it's more of a marketing term used to target a specific demographic of consumers. I did however game on this and found it to be enjoyable. For competitive gaming I'd at least recommend a good hard surface mousepad, but I have doubts that anyone buying this product is doing so for competitive gaming haha. Cons: - Portability - Size. This thing is clearly designed to just live on the couch. Traveling with it is not realistic. A potential solution for this without compromising the product's quality would be to change the design of the side parts, so that only the bottom (if the foam material choice is intentional due to the surface this product rests on) or inner sides (if the foam material choice is intentional due to the comfort of foam at the customer's sides) are foam and the rest is either a hard plastic or metal collapsible rod structure. Unfortunately it is hard to describe using only text, but you can see other laptop stands that collapse inward for reference. Those two gigantic foam pieces are the culprit behind many customer's biggest issues with this product. If neither of the foam decisions I mentioned above were a consideration, please lose this foam concept as it does not benefit the consumer at all beyond the arm rest comfort. If the foam is being used due to product costs, another profitable option would be to make the new design and sell it as the next model, at a higher price point. I'd have paid $40-50 more if this product was easier to move around. - Portability - Storage. Building on what is mentioned above, the product is sold as three separate parts: the main lap desk board, and two large foam pieces that simply act as arm rests and a place for the hard lap desk board to rest so it isn't on your thighs. We are looking at three huge parts, which is a problem when it comes to storage. Considering the collapsible design I mentioned above should lead to a resolution for this pain point as well. - Structure. The lap board has these bottom panels that you can use to control cable flow to some degree. These panels are wobbly and do not stay sealed properly. There is only a single screw holding these in, placed in the center of each side. Simply changing the design of the case to use several clipping points on the side instead of a screwdriver in the middle would resolve this issue. It may even save on production costs as well, as you'd remove the need for the screwdriver altogether. - Couch usage. Ironic honestly. I don't mean to say this in an extremely negative way, this worked fine for my usage as a bed lap desk, but trying to use this on some couches will be difficult due to the foam parts length. If you have a shallow couch, expect to have the foam stick out in the front, leading to potential balancing issues. - Included USB features. I don't use this at all. The cabling was non-standard and confusing, needed a dedicated power supply to fully function, and heavy (which is very odd considering it still needs dedicated power). Users should expect plug and play usability with a product like this. Honestly just getting a USB hub with a high speed USB extender is a better option than trying to utilize the included option. - Price. Clearly overpriced based on the materials this product is made out of. Overall: I'm happy I have one to use for the most part, except when I am not actively using it. I regret paying as much as I did as well, this product is literally a lapboard, two large foam rectangles, and some whacky cabling that I advise removing altogether. The design seems a bit all over the place and it is hard to tell what the real focus was here. I think for their next product they should ditch the idea of separate full foam arms in place of a collapsible, easier to store design. It should no longer consider cable management at all in the base product, instead favoring a clippable area on the front side of the lap board (away from the user) or on the sides to allow for separate "modules" to accommodate different customer needs as they see fit. For example, selling a clippable cable management option separately, or clippable cup holders, phone holders, extended surface areas, etc. This would create more opportunity for sales AND analytics. The numbers will expose where customer interest actually are, to allow for focused improvements in future iterations of this product. ... show more

  • Game changer
This is the coolest thing I own. I mean it. Now I can get off my butt away from my office chair and on my butt and on my couch in front of my big screen 4k oled 120hz tv. Feels great man. Oh, and I can charge my phone while holding my beer. Just buy it already!

  • Second version is great
I bought the CYCON2 version, not the original. From what I read of previous comments, it looks like the manufacturer actually read all the cons in those reviews and went down the line and fixed them all. 1) The hub is now powered and 6 ports (2 ports on each side of the inner pillar and 2 on the top in the middle above where the numpad would be on the keyboard). 2) The holes for cables are no longer round and too small for bigger keyboard connectors (like the ones that have 2 USB cables together). The new parallelogram shaped holes seem to have plenty of room to shove cable ends through. 3) The 2 back panels are held on by 1 large Philips screw in the center and 4 small magnets on the corners of each panel, so you unscrew the one screw with a wide flat head and then pull gently to remove the panel. When replacing the panel, just pop it in place and the magnets held it until you put the screw back in. The screw point and another protrusion on each side form a cable manager under each panel that you can wrap excess cable around for the mouse and keyboard. 4) The cable coming out of the board is 2 parts: an internal cable that plugs into the hub in the central inner pillar and can be routed to either side and ends just beyond a hole on the side of the board; and a very long cable with a custom connector that plugs into the first cable at the side of the board and has a USB A (the standard PC connector) on the other end. A power cable comes out the back of the USB connector and ends in a round power connector that the wall wart AC adapter plugs into. 5) The cushions are separate, so I only need one for the right side (left side of the board sits on the couch arm). I think the cushions are perfect sized and comfortable to rest my arm on. 6) Comes with a mouse pad with double sided tape on the back. I installed it on the right and it works great with my mouse. It can be installed on either side depending on your preference, or you can toss it and buy a gaming mouse mat to put on it. 7) There's plenty of room for a full sized keyboard and the mouse pad, though I bought a tenkeyless gaming keyboard to use with it. My keyboard has removeable cable with USB-C connector on the keyboard, so it is really easy to pop the connector off and remove the keyboard without messing with the cable management or back panels. I highly recommend getting a keyboard like that (mine is HyperX) and also a mouse with removeable cable if you don't use a wireless mouse; otherwise you need to keep the board more or less level wherever you store it to keep the keyboard/mouse from falling off or hanging by their cables. Overall, I initially thought it was pretty expensive for a lap desk, but after getting it and using it I am completely satisfied with it and don't regret the price at all. It is vastly superior to the lap desk I was using previously. If you are going to do PC gaming from a couch or la-z-boy, I would definitely recommend it. I would also recommend getting a keyboard and mouse with cables that also detach at the device to make storing everything easier. ... show more

  • I should have bought this sooner
Never have I enjoyed my couch more. This thing is exactly how it's described above and for me, it's perfect. Combined with my VR headset, I get to work in a "home office" from my couch! This puts my arms and wrist in exactly the right place and I no longer get that wrist fatigue from long hours of typing or gaming. This thing was designed with everything in mind. The cords get safely and neatly tucked away. The 6 extra ports makes it painlessly quick to switch between the keyboard + mouse and my dual sense controller. ... show more
