It has a small opening inside to hold trinkets, maybe a little bit of jewelry, just a small handful of things. The one I selected as a gift for a friend played "That's What Friends are For" when the cover was lifted (wind up) and the music had a good tone and played well. The print they had in the display window on the cover of the box looked good, but I wanted to personalize my gift by inserting my own artwork and message. It made a nice gift. It's so nice! Don't be fooled by the picture because it's a bit smaller than I imagined, but still functional. Be sure to twist the bottom so that the music comes on when you open it. It's a sweet melody. The wood is so beautiful. Definitely a good jewelry box. If the giftee runs out of space, it's a great picture frame, too! ... show more
