I purchased the backpack for a recent trip and overall I am extremely pleased with how it performed. I was able to pack 5 days worth of clothes, a laptop, headphones, toiletries, a book and diary in the pack. I like all the separate pockets, it makes it easy to keep things organized but there are almost too many pockets as I kept forgetting which zipper opened which pocket from the outside. Zippers tuck under for security which is cool. I did get a white scratch on it from jamming it into the overhead bin but nothing a sharpie couldn't fix. I do have concerns about the latches on the strap and how long they will last but so far so good. I jam packed the bag and it was very comfortable to walk around with, the straps are padded well and didn't cut into shoulders at all. On my last leg flight, it was I believe an Embraer or one of the smaller overhead bin planes, they asked everyone with a roller bag to check it but because this a backpack I was exempt and it fit (with a little umpf) just perfectly in the overhead. Save me waiting to pick up my bad on the jetway. Overall very pleased, hope the quality of the bag holds over time. ... show more

I ordered this to replace the one I'd ordered previously that arrived looking used. It's the perfect size and I'm looking forward to carrying this on as my main luggage for a upcoming trip to Italy. It's stylish, and lightweight, and with a smaller personal carry-on should meet my needs perfectly. It's expandable, so I plan to add purchased items and check it on the way home. I bought this bag for gym/yoga and office, and I frankly think is a little too big for this. The bag is super durable and I love the color combination, but I find it cumbersome sometime as accessing things inside the bag requires unpacking and unzipping 2 pockets every time. Luckily they though of this, so the designers put a side zip that can help you reach for those things directly from the side, which I appreciate a lot. I also love the laptop pocket which grants easy access to your laptop and is easy to store away too. Overall I think 35L has some feature that the 28L doesn't (for example side zip to access main compartment), but is a little too big for daily use. My son used this to travel to Japan. I do think on the way home he had to check the bag bc it was overstuffed and too thick for carry-on but overall he loved this bag and recommends it

I researched the best carry-on luggage and this travel backpack was the top choice for several sources. It zips open around three sides to lay open like a book, same as hard sided carry-ons. But it is a high-quality backpack. This makes for a very easy transit across airports, using trains and in other settings. The shoulder, belly, and back straps are high-quality comfortable and easy to adjust by the wearer. As a 65-year old traveler in average physical shape, this medium size was easy to pack for several days and a very comfortable carry at 20 pounds packed. It could carry more, but I couldn’t. I got this bag because its smaller sibling was just that. Too small. I also had high hopes that the tablet sleeve would be large enough to fit my 12 inch ipad with the magic keyboard, and that wasn’t the case. On top of that, with the bag fully packed out, and my ipad in the laptop sleeve, it didn’t feel comfortable at all. If you’re going to put the tablet and ipad sleeve on the back, then please allow it to sit low enough so that it’s not in the middle and upper portion of the back. Second, follow designers like Thinktank and Lowepro. They provide enough padding so that you don’t even know that the ipad and computer are there. Pros: - The material - The shape - A ton of room in the main compartment. Enough space for a 7 day trip even. - Soft shell outer so that it accommodates the over packer Cons: - not comfortable when fully packed out and you have a laptop or tablet in the pocket, or both. - When full packed out it restricted what you could put in the outside tech pockets - tablet sleeve not large enough for a 12 inch tablet with a case or magic keyboard. ... show more
