For as heavy as this seems, I found it quite light weight even after I filled it up for two weeks of international travel— 12 lbs total! Things I loved: - The feature to tuck the straps in is convenient for quickly stuffing it into overhead bins. - The mesh zip covering so you can open it without having everything explode out - The front pocket that can fit a lot for easy access. - The hip straps (my back is happy) - The colors and durability. Bought it to try packing for extended travel without a hard-sided suitcase and using carry-on rather than checked luggage. Was apprehensive based on reviews but very glad I went ahead and ordered it. PROS 1. Lot of space, for everything. Convenient zippered areas within the bag to keep stuff from moving around. 2. Unexpected access points --- zipper on the side to get into the bag and access stuff that's not at the top 3. Carrying handle so you can carry like a suitcase 4. Overall manageable size for a smaller person (I'm 5'9") 5. Backpack allows user to tuck in the shoulder straps so they are completely hidden (brilliant!) 6. Detachable waist strap 7. Includes a "fly" and an internal zipper pocket to store it 8. Fabric strips sewn across the path of the zipper to keep the zipper from unzipping - YAY zippers don't unexpectedly unzip ! CONS 1. Fabric strips sewn across the path of the zipper to keep the zipper from unzipping - BOO when you want to unzip the zipper handle is obstructed by the fabric. It's doing it job but it's hella annoying and could be avoided by a different zipper handle configuration. 2. Carrying handles are thin strip of nylon fabric and after just a little use, it crinkles up into almost a cord link knot of fabric which is uncomfortable to carry for very long. Bought this backpack to backpack through Europe. It had the perfect amount of room, allowing me to bring 1 month worth of clothes and 2 different pairs of shoes as well as any toiletries or miscellaneous items. The bag is highly durable but it is not well padded so I don’t put anything fragile in it. ... show more

Used this bag for a 5 day vacation. It was the perfect size! The only thing I wished it had wheels. It can get heavy after walking for hours in the airport. Great quality and will last a long time.

Used it for a trip to Europe. 35L worked great for packing 10 days worth of clothes. Fit in the over head bins, no issue with various European airlines. Packed down my clothes with packing cubes.     • Great overall travel pack - Just travelled with this, it will save you stress.
I purchased the backpack for a recent trip and overall I am extremely pleased with how it performed. I was able to pack 5 days worth of clothes, a laptop, headphones, toiletries, a book and diary in the pack. I like all the separate pockets, it makes it easy to keep things organized but there are almost too many pockets as I kept forgetting which zipper opened which pocket from the outside. Zippers tuck under for security which is cool. I did get a white scratch on it from jamming it into the overhead bin but nothing a sharpie couldn't fix. I do have concerns about the latches on the strap and how long they will last but so far so good. I jam packed the bag and it was very comfortable to walk around with, the straps are padded well and didn't cut into shoulders at all. On my last leg flight, it was I believe an Embraer or one of the smaller overhead bin planes, they asked everyone with a roller bag to check it but because this a backpack I was exempt and it fit (with a little umpf) just perfectly in the overhead. Save me waiting to pick up my bad on the jetway. Overall very pleased, hope the quality of the bag holds over time. ... show more
