This is a beautiful set of espresso cups. Quite generous in size, so much so that I would not only consider them for espresso, but also for a cup of coffee, tea, or even to use as a punch cup, where the lovely color of the punch would show through the beautifully embossed clear cups. The problem here is that the saucers are more like small plates. What I mean by this is that the indentation to secure the cup in place during transport is not deep enough for the cup to properly seat itself, ergo, it slides around. This is a great set of glass teacups and saucers. Six total, with the added bonus that they look like they were an early-mid 20th-century prize discovered while out antiquing on a Saturday afternoon! They have a good weight to them and would look fabulous with a colorful punch, cider, or mulled wine in them when the holidays come around. Or, they'd be perfect for an Easter tea. They seem extremely versatile for entertaining. One thing of note, they do not sit deeply within the saucer. While they don't seem to slide *super* easily, there is the danger of them possibly doing so if you aren't careful in how you carry them. The saucers will double nicely for a small dessert plate, however, and work fine if you aren't trotting around or running a 5K with an unsteadied cup and saucer in hand. These are so perfect for tea. My parents live with me and they always love to drink their tea every day. They love it when the teacups are clear and they can see the color of the tea. It's a tradition for them and these teacups do just that but also add some flare with the beautiful design on the teacups and the saucers. These go well for milk as well or milk tea, espressos, and more. My kids have milk or hot cocoa and we have tea and they are very easy to pick up and drink from.
