For both indoor and outdoor use, these weather and fade resistant roller shades made with durable aluminum head rails and heavy duty HDPE fabric ensure use and enjoyment for years to come. Had a Coolaroo outdoor roller shade on the back porch in another house and very pleased with it so purchased another for blocking late afternoon summer sun. Quality is excellent, installation fairly quick. This smaller size (4 ft x 6 ft) didn't come with a way to secure at the bottom when the wind is blowing, but it won't be used in rainy/windy weather. It does sway a bit in mild breezes, so will be attaching some weights at the bottom to prevent the back and forth movement. ... show more

the shade itself is beautiful and is everything the writeup states. However, at the time of order. it was not indicated that hardware was not included . when package was opened this AM, the missing pieces made it impossible to hang the shade.

Shade is not 48” wide. It’s more like 50.37” which is mentioned in the installation paperwork; not in the info on Amazon. Too wide for us and a bummer as the last one we got (different one) broke 10 days after 30 day return. I did get a refund but not a replacement if the first one.     • Works great, but is a nightmare to install

I needed shades for my pergola/deck and these were a perfect choice. The problem though is installation. The crank side bracket is an absolute nightmare. You have minimal room to screw it into the wood. I think the crank unit is supposed to come apart and have a bracket, but I couldn't figure out how to separate them without breaking it. This has caused me endless frustration and no amount of googling would explain to me how these brackets come apart so you can install them without using every profanity in the book while wasting hour after hour trying to install them. Was it worth it - maybe in time. They are nice. Honestly though, I am still pissed at how much time I wasted trying to get the thing up. It shouldn't be that hard. And if the crank unit separates from the bracket, that is the way it should be shipped because it is too hard to figure out without any kind of instructions anyway. I wouldn't buy again unless there was an easier way to screw the things into the wood. ... show more

Easy to install and good value for money. When installing, using two wooden spacers attached to the wall just below the window, I was able to leave a 4 inch gap between shade and window improving the cooling effect.
