My hand mixer literally blew up and I decided to upgrade. I spent days comparing models, accessories, specs, etc. I was looking at Kitchen Aid, but as good as everyone says they are, it's just too much to invest in a mixer that's not used every day. What attracted me to the Cook Lee brand was, first, the price on Amazon, that was made even better by a "coupon" savings and my bonus points. Second (having spent most of my life in graphic design) was the actual design of the mixer. Nothing you have to hide in a cabinet! It's about half the weight of a Kitchen Aid. Which leads me to one small point: in the "compare with" section on Amazon, material was listed as "aluminum". I know it wasn't meant for the accessories, becasuse they had their own material description. It's a heavy duty plastic body, but it's not aluminum. Regardless, what isn't plastic today? The suction cups on the bottom are formidable, almost like wrestling with an octopus! Lift it all up at once, because if one of them catches the counter top again, it sticks! Which is good, because the mixer DOES shimmy a little on higher speeds, but the machine stays put very firmly. The biggest surprise was the quietness of operation. I thought it might be noisier because it has a 600+watt motor--stronger than many other brands, including Kitchen Aid. So that was a surprise. The spatter cover is a nice extra, and the stainless steel 9.5 quart bowl has a handle and it twist-locks to the base. I've tried the various attachments and speeds and different weight doughs, just to inaugurate the mixer properly and see if there were any negatives. Well, one. But it's a reverse-negative in that I'm mentioning the bowl is too BIG. It was fine for all I used it for, but there will come a time when a smaller bowl would be more practical, so I'v checked with the manufacturer and am awaiting a reply. All in all, if you're not completely convinced that Kitchen Aid is the ONLY good mixer, this one is highly recommended. Weight wise, it's easy enough that almost anyone can handle it, so if you store it in a cabinet you don't need to call for help to hoist it out. I don't have the cabinet space, so it doubles as a mixer and a piece of sculpture! ... show more

So far this is worth the money. I thought I would put it to the test right out of the box and I actually even saved the box in case I had to return it. I would make bread if anything will kill a mixer it’s bread dough well by golly to my surprise, it did a good job And it was quiet compared to my old mixer (KA 5quart standing). My old mixer lasted me a long time and it was a good machine too but I’ll be darned if I’m gonna pay that real high price for something like that. This mixer did a really good job and I am very glad that I bought it. I only gave it four stars because time will tell I want to see if it burns out or if anything else goes wrong. I don’t think it will, though it seems like a very good mixer. And I love that big bowl. Oh my gosh and it even has a cover for it. ... show more

My old mixer left with my ex and I found this one that just looked great and a good price too. First out of the box, this is a very well made mixer, and has good weight to it. The mixer, the bowel, and all the attachments are very well made too where they have good weight to them too. The main part I like is the power this one has along with ten speeds, where that has the most I have ever seen, and the highest does come in handy some times. The mixer does not move, the suction cups on the bottom of the mixer work real well, and once set to the cabinet, it would not move around at all. The mixer has everything for attachments, I really like the splash guard that easily slides onto the top of the mixer and the covers the bowl, it really helped when I was mixing up the meringue the other day where the small window at the top allowed to get the spatula (included) in to move the batter a bit without having to take it off and put back on again, a big plus for this one, where I have seen others that do not . Another thing I really like about this one, is that when the release for the top of the mixer pops up and back, it really gives a lot more room, even more than the old one that I had, and that really helps when trying to get the bowl out, especially when it is full of batter and not able to tip that much. I have mixed a few things up with it, where the cake batter just mixed perfectly without any lumps at all. And the bread and noodle batter mixed very well too where it was just prefect for rolling out. The cleaning was very easy too, everything comes off, and the main mixer wipes off perfectly without leaving any scratches or residue. Where the finish is more than just looks, it seems to be a good quality to where it will resist some torture in the kitchen. I put this one through my test in the kitchen, and this is absolutely my fav, where I found no cons, none whatsoever, where I am very happy with the purchase. ... show more

I purchased this strictly for making large batches of dough to make bread. I have a 6qt Kitchen Aid Mixer that I use almost daily but needed something larger to mix dough. I didn’t want to spend my kids’ inheritance to purchase a larger KA brand so I decided to try this. Yes, it’s not as heavy duty and sturdy as a KA but it works great for what I purchased it for and you can’t beat the price. If you are looking for a very large mixer for bread dough, baked goods or icing, I strongly recommend you give this nifty mixer a try. I will say this...I thought it would have a turn table where the bowl spins around, but it doesn't. Maybe I didn't look at the pics close enough. The bowl locks into place.
