These used to be my go to sneakers for decades. I’d pick them up at a department store, having matched my current shoes to the soles of the new pair. I believe the sizes were standard American women’s and men’s sizes, but it wouldn’t matter in an in-person setting because you can see them and try them. Online, however, we rely on accurate and consistent sizing. I tried a few sets of converse from Amazon (third parties) trying to get something close to my size, but no luck. The sales pages have unclear lists of sizes, mostly without explanation, with the various types of sizing all in the same numeric order list together. The shoes themselves have at least two sizes printed on the tongue , one women’s and one men’s. I believe some also use unisex and European sizing. And… the shoes seemed like they’d been stored for a while, so I have no idea when or where any were manufactured or how to predict which size I’m ordering from the various sellers. I got none that fit. I was luckier with keds, whose sizing seemed more consistent with my life’s history of shoe wearing. So while these are still essentially converse, they're very hit or miss on the size and the cost is very high to be fiddling around with multiple purchases. They were very good about the refunds, to be fair, though most return options involve sending my husband searching for this or that staples or ups store to wait on lines, so… heads up. ... show more
