  • Edited: Unusual behavior from device, support isn't great Was: "Absolutely fantastic device"
Updated review (10/12/22): I am very conflicted about writing this updated review but I feel like I have to. The RollerMouse seemed like a dream come true, my wrist had started to hurt very, very badly even using the best trackball mice I could find. I got used to the RollerMouse within the first two days, and never wanted to use anything else. It's like a trackpad with way more precision, but also kind of feels like a pen device (sort of), and a trackball -- all in one. Great right? Well, the problem is that it freezes as shown in the video I am attempting to upload, at least once per day but more often 5 or so times, sometimes far more. I actually just decided to stop using it all together today, unfortunately. I wrote an email to customer support providing the same video as I have here, and they have not replied within their stated SLA window (48 hours, business days). The automated reply also says you should call them if they have failed their SLA window, that's not a great sign to be honest. This issue does seem to be rare, to be fair to Contour. But if the issue is this rare then their triage really should have just sent me a new device and asked for this one to be sent back so they can investigate it properly. There is no justifiable reason to make me wait this long to get a new mouse that is technically an accessibility device. Will update when/if I hear back. In the meantime, I am going to sadly go against my own advice and buy another one so hopefully I can stop having this shooting pain in my arm. (Amazon won't let me upload the video to this review but I was able to upload it to the possibly separate customer's videos section.) Previous review: I love this thing, it is the best mouse I've ever used -- past Logitech trackman and Ergo Mx even. ... show more

  • Best option for carpal tunnel.
I'm a heavy data entry user; my employer purchased the roller mouse red in 2014 after I started suffering from carpal tunnel pain. Unfortunately, the ball mouse I was using broke; it had the ball in the middle of the mouse so I could use my fingers and not my thumb. So I talked to an ergonomic expert, and they suggested the roller mouse by contour design. It's 2022, and that original purchase is still going even though I've burned through five laptops. I'm glad because I don't think my employer would spring for another one. The roller mouse mini is a purchase I have made for my personal computer; it is small and portable. However, it has taken me a few years to pull the trigger, and I am happy I did. I know it is expensive ... okay, very expensive, but it has allowed me to maintain productivity and not be in pain. If you're reading this because you suffer from wrist pain, I hope you can get one. ... show more

  • Good ergonomic solution with portability
I have been using the RollerMouse Free3 (RMF3) product for a few years and came across this product. I do carry the product in my backpack and the size of the RMF3 was always a burden. The size of the RM Mobile is perfect. Pros: - Compact size, perfect for portability (compared to previous rollermouse products. Obviously these are bulkier than traditional mouse products). - Easy on the wrist. - Adjustable DPI. - USB C and exposed charging port. Micro-usb in the previous versions and a proprietary cable that was needed to charge them products were such a pain in the rear. Despite the connections previously being micro-usb, the port was actually buried deep within the device, so you had to use the cable that came with the product to be able to charge the device. The new Mobile model has usb-c and the port is exposed so I no longer need to carry separate charging cables for this purpose. All my other devices use usb-c so this is a huge plus. - Price: Other line-ups have a hefty price tag and some might be hesitant to try this out. $175 is still not cheap but it is more affordable to previous products. Cons: - Buttons: I would have liked it better if the left and right clicks were on the same side and copy and paste buttons on the other side. The grouping of the buttons don't make a lot of sense to me, but maybe it would for others. I also would have liked to see more programmable buttons (e.g. back, double click, etc). The left and right click buttons are too big, I feel like they could have reduced the size of the left and right click and included at least 2 more buttons. - No dedicated spot to store usb dongle within the device: this may not be a huge deal since it supports bluetooth, but my work computers have bluetooth disabled so I'm stuck with a dongle. I might be easy to forget or lose the dongle since I have to carry it separately. - No wrist pad. Due to the size, it's not practical to have a dedicated wrist pad, but I noticed I click the buttons by mistake when I rest my hands on the product. - Price: It's still not cheap. I can see people defaulting to vertical mouse or trackball mouse products because they have a wide variety of price ranges, starting from a $20 range. But personally, I have tried other solutions before settling with Rollermouse and the ergonomic benefits come nowhere close to the RollerMouse products. Overall, I love the compact size and the ergonomic benefits that comes with this product. ... show more

  • Only mouse that doesn't cause pain
I really like the compactness of the mobile version because I work on a laptop and move around a lot. I had a regular size roller mouse years ago at my office, and it was the only mouse that alleviated my wrist and shoulder pain. I've gone without one for many years because I have been working from home and my pain has gotten really bad again. I am so happy to have a roller mouse again and get relief for my wrist, arm and shoulder. If you have pain, this is honestly the best mouse you can buy! ... show more
