I love this brand, usually. I have bought many different kinds of water bottles from Contigo as I am brand specific 🙄 They always keep my water cold and my ice frozen, and the one I use for hot tea and coffee keeps it HOT. That being said, the last 2 water (only) bottles have had issues. I forget the name of the bottle but it started to develop mold/mildew on the inside of the seal. I used a food grade bleach solution and soaked it for 2 min and let it dry completely (over 24 hrs). To no avail 😞 I then tried taking it apart and it was clearly not meant to be. The stain didn't come out and continued to get darker and now it leaked. So... Byron was purchased. Loved it. Until I dropped it. After "the fall" it wouldn't keep ice for 2-3 hrs. The rust is my complaint for Byron. There are a few spots that started to develop before I dropped it. I only use it for water so I'm not sure what's happening. I love Contigo so the third time has got to be the charm! I have not attempted to contact the company as I am spicy brained and drop/crash into things frequently and feel this one is my fault. I'm not a fan of the design that you have a tough snap seal to pop up on the opposite side of your mouth hole. It makes it somewhat difficult to use 1 handed. And the way the drinking location is made, with it concave like it is, it seems to catch some of the liquid when you take it away from your mouth after drinking. So, around the sipping area always seems a little wet because of that. Drinking soda from it caused the mouth hole to shoot mist into the air when you unseal it to drink, but that's less crazy than my other mug when I tried drinking soda from it that has a straw in it. That one shot soda all over me like a fountain from the straw when I opened the lid to drink from it. Bottom line is: drink soda from these at your own risk. I didn't know how volatile these steel cased mugs would be with ice cold soda in them. ... show more

Strong-I've dropped it on a concrete sidewalk and it only put a dent on bottom. No leak-once the lid is on tight, I actually shake it to stir in creamer. Insulated-keeps coffee hot for about 4 hrs. I love the color of mine.

Bought this for my husband and he loved it until it started leaking coffee all over him. Turns out the seal on the inside of the lid doesn’t stay put. We've purchased many many travel mugs before this one and never experienced the seal being displaced. We fixed it and it hasn’t leaked since, but it’s something we need to be aware of always when using this mug.
