We took these on a bus tour vacation in England/Ireland as we were told to bring reusable water bottles. I have a regular uninsulated Contigo bottle that I like, so I got this pair for the two of us. They are great for cold, BUT, we got sick on the trip. Every room over there has a hot water kettle, so I made hot tea every morning to take for the day, to sooth our sore throats. These were amazing! Hot tea all day saved us! At one point, it was staying so hot I took the lid off for about 20 minutes! I also love the one-hand button operation while on the go. I hardly use my other bottles now. Perfect size (20 ozs). One caveat, I had some leakage when I just threw it sideways in my bag on first use, so after that I kept it upright when carrying, just in case. 100% recommend. ... show more

I loved my old Contigo that locked and was a hard top that would last lots of falls without breaking. I still have it even with all it's dents it still works great but needed another. I wish Contigo made the same one but this one is close. It does have a lock feature. I would have given it a 5 star but since its such a tiny plastic lock unlike the old hardy version I gave it 4. I love that it has a hard plastic top that can withstand falls and holds up. The only down side to this new version is the small plastic lock and it has a rubber piece on the lid for spill proof unlike the old that did not it just fit perfectly. Such a great bottle! I have this one along with the 32 oz version. This one fits in cup holders, the larger one does not. Love the simple lid that is easy to clean and can be operated with one hand. The “neck” of the bottle gives a comfortable place for your hand when you hold it. Keeps water cold for 8 hours or so, but I will have drank it all before then. I've been a Jackson water bottle fan for years - except for the occasional frustration with the plastic lid rings breaking. Seriously, I have a dozen or so of the Version 1.0 bottles (tall and short) in my cabinets. I was irrationally excited when I saw there was a new version of the bottle out. This bottle goes with me practically everywhere I go, and while I'm sometimes slightly suspicious of the locking mechanism, I haven't had a mishap yet. Temperature control is great - the bottle can sit in my car under the Texas sun (105+ degree weather) for hours and still keep my drink cool. I bought a 2 pack for myself, but found my fiancee had basically claimed my backup bottle for herself. Get this bottle - you won't regret it! Note: I purchased the stainless steel vacuum version - I have not tried the plastic version which I'm sure doesn't hold the temperature as well. ... show more

I have looked long and hard for a water bottle that does not have a straw and I’ve finally found it! No leaks, no straw, and has double insulation!! Only reason to give 4 stars is the lack of color options. I don’t love any of the colors. I wish they had more muted, earthy tones available.

This is not my first Contigo water bottle, and the first ones were very complicated to clean, and would grow mold all too readily. Just the same, because it could maintain cold for 12 to 16 hours. Because I only used it for water I didn't necessarily scrub it out between uses because I simply added ice and water to it until I noticed a buildup around the mechanisms in the cap, I am an invalid and standing on my feet for any period of time can be painful so I shorten the time I spend scrubbing things if I can, and especially I utilize a dishwasher whenever possible. The first bottle had to be hand washed. This bottle is not filled up with a lot of seals and mechanisms that you need small complicated brushes to scrub them out with. I'm very pleased with the smooth, easily cleaned surfaces and the fact that it maintains cold so well. ... show more

In 100F + heat, this bottle keeps water cold for four to six hours while running errands. The water stays inside if the lid is latched regardless of how I knock it over. The paint may scrape on the ground and the bottom may get dinged, but it just keeps working as long as it doesn't fall on the plastic lid. I'm on bottles number three and four now -- it's summer and I have two cup holders. I broke the first two bottle's lids, both by falling over 3 feet (while empty) and landing lid-down on concrete. ... show more
