It’s a little bit of a pain to get together but the key is get the screws in as you go. This is the 3rd one we have had 2 for over a year and they have been great so expecting the same from this one. I can not say how waterproof they are as our are under a patio cover.

    • Read the instructions first. Second, read the instructions again!

I wish my husband and I made a video, but half of it would be bleeped out. My husband (who has assembled all kinds of things (Ikea) glanced at the instructions. First, you have to assemble the roof, lol. If you survive this, next comes the walls. My husband didn't study the instructions. So we got one wall up, then the other, then like a house of cards it collapsed. After numerous attempts, I got my glasses and read the instructions. After much yelling and screaming, he listened to me and followed the instructions. Wow, what a difference. After we got it together (no it still wasn't easy), you are suppose to screw it together and then put the floor on. My husband insisted we put it on the floor and then screw it together. This worked well as the base tends to hold it in place while screwing it together. It rained heavy today and I check it and no leaks. I am very satisfied with it. My lab mix has plenty of room. I crawled inside to check it, I had plenty of room. We have had wooden dog houses in the past and after 2 - 3 years they start to deteriorate due to South Florida weather. I decided to switch to plastic and hopefully will get more years out of it. ... show more

    • Pieces are bent-hard to assemble

I would love to give this doghouse a 5 star review but I cannot. The assembly should take 5 minutes tops. However, due to bent pieces in the dog house, it took about an hour to assemble. The main piece that holds the roof pieces together does not snap properly into place, as a result it doesn’t make the dog house waterproof as advertised. My son used gorilla glue tape to cover the seam in the middle until we can purchase some self taping screws and possibly assemble this dog house better. Total waist of my money. ... show more

We just tore down an old dog house for are big dog. I was a little worried that this house wasn’t big enough but this XL dog house was perfect for our outdoor dog who is around 95-100lbs. She has plenty of room to lay down to include her stuff animals and balls to which she stores with her.
