Love the quality of this jacket, great price too. We live in Florida so I needed something for our daily rain showers as my son walks to school.     • Nice jacket for a kid
I bought this for my son so that he could have a light jacket/rain jacket. It is made very well and has had no issues with rain seeping in so the waterproofing seems to work well. It looks good and is lasting well. Fits as expected.

I purchased a size 3T for my 2.5 year old and he is quite petite. It ended up being just the right size for him with a little extra growing room. The material is nice and thin, perfect for rainy weather during warmer seasons. Good quality and great price, nice range of colours too.

    • Exactly what I was looking for
My son has this ONE jacket that he is obsessed with (even though it's two sizes too small at this point 🙄) that does not take to the water well. Being in junior high, he changes classes multiple times a day and often has to walk outside between the main building and band/art halls. I was looking for something that was sturdy and well made, but lightweight enough that he could comfortably wear his favorite jacket underneath it if he wanted. He thought it was very comfortable and I think it fit well. He is thirteen and we bought a size Large. There is enough room that he can easily wear his jacket underneath, at least for now, but it is also fitted enough that it doesn't look oversized with just a shirt under this jacket. I initially bought the size 10-12 for my 10 year old son. It fitted well but it was evident he would outgrow it in a few months time. So I returned it and bought a size 14-16 instead. Its a little big but still fits well. Its very light as the purpose is to keep one dry from the rain. It is not meant to provide warmth as it has no insulating layer. More of a spring and fall jacket when it rains but is not wintery cold. It looks great, provides good protection from rain and my son loves it. ... show more

My son loves to play in the rain and it keeps him dry. I also like the color. It is thin but I like that because my son can wear layers if it's cold or just a tshirt underneath if it's hot. The thin material also allows for flexibility when dodging raindrops and jumping in epic puddles. The construction and materials feel and look solid. I regard to the fit, my son is 8 and in 50th percentile, I bought him a medium and it looks good. I think he can get this year as well as next year out of it. ... show more

Love this rain jacket from Columbia. This is the second time I am purchasing this exact jacket as I got a good 2 years out of the first one. Keep in mind this jacket is made for warmer weather when purchasing. Initially I purchased this for my son to take to sleep away camp. It survived two summers at camp and still looks good as it is so easy to clean. Now that he has outgrown it, the jacket is being passed down to a family member. I don't mind paying a little more for a quality item if I can get an extra year of use out of it. So lightweight & roomy - great for springtime until possibly early fall. ... show more

My son wears a 6-7 in shirts so I ordered the "Big Kids: Size Small". This size fit him perfectly and should fit for the next year or so. I think we could've even gone with a medium to get even more life out of it, however the small fits perfectly on him (he is a skinny, short kid for his age). The jacket is a shell and not insulated, but it is well made and appears very waterproof and will work over a long sleeve shirt or light hoodie very well.
