I was looking for a simple way to keep my chickens away from a tree in my front yard as they love to bath in the dirt, but this exposes the tree's roots. I wanted something quick and easy and this it was. It is still winter so I haven't put it in the ground permanently but the stakes on these were strong enough still to go through some fairly hard ground (it was a bit frozen-not a typical winter here) so I was impressed.
