  • Just Got This Surfacing Bit to Level a Table
Ok. I make a lot of projects out of hardwoods. Currently I am working on a table for my workshop. Its made of hardwoods as I don't expect I'll make another one in my life time. But, I needed to level this 6'X8' table with my slab jig. I turned to my trusty 2" bit and it was dull as they come. I got online and found this one. with changeable carbide cutters. It has been a joy to use. I haven't dulled one side of the cutters as yet, I'm sure I will soon enough. But the first 3 passes over the table. It worked SWEETLY! ... show more

  • Great quality fast shipping
This Works flawless for surfacing the spoil board on my CNC machine. Been looking for a awhile for a bit of this size to speed up resurfacing and other projects but couldn't pay the high price a bit of this size usually cost. Then I came across this one and decided to gamble. Don't hesitate, this is a great buy. Fast shipping and secure packaging. I have used a similar bit at work that cost almost 5 times as much and this bit works just as well. Pros Blades are replaceable, easy to find and cheap plus you can rotate each blade 4 times for a brand new edge Seems pretty balanced for a bit this large Leaves a very smooth surface Comes with extra screws Shipping was much faster than expected Cons Lots of machine oil under plastic protective coating ... show more

  • Good bit for the money
Used this bit to do my first ever slab( live edge) flattening, on a nice piece of Sycamore. From my reading, I know the 1/2 shank was going to be needed, to do this much work. With my trusty craftsman router. The bit and the router made easy work of it. Very happy I decided to buy this bit, and spend as much as I did....most expensive router bit I have bought yet. Not sure on longevity yet, but so far, so good. ... show more

  • Excellent product

  • Time saving, and replaceable blades.
I was skeptical with planing doug fir boards. It cuts through beautifully. Using smaller bits strained my patience. The hug cutting surface speeds up the process exponentially. The finish is reasonably smooth. Occasionally I will get small chips, and you can see a shallow pass line on the trailing edge. Manageable with sanding. I limit each pass to 1/8th inch, any more strains my under powered router. I hit a metal clamp damaging two of the cutting blades. Removal and rotation was easy. Nice not to replace the entire bit. Balance is good but there is a noticeable vibration over my smaller 2” bit. One word of caution… as many of you know router injuries are severe, not a slice and stitch, more flail and amputate kind of thing. Be very careful. The large size and all that rotating energy can get away from you with catastrophic consequences. Safety first! ... show more

  • I'm happy i spent the extra cash!
this thing is not a toy a joke or anything else. it will hog though material at the rate of ten thousand samurai's across a rice field leaving no blade of wood fiber in its path. and its reusable wow just the 3in resurfacing bit I needed for all my flattening of table's and cabinet doors galore. I can't wait to use it, it makes such a mess so fast that you will be in saw dust heaven in no time. if wood chips are your fancy this is the product for you unless those wood chips are for fleas, it plows through walnut, ash, elm, oak, wood of all types shapes and colors, like butter and doesn't break a sweat. I won't say my feed's and speed's, i would wont anyone to assume that you could do it with any router and I'm doing it by hand so yeah slow and easy wins the not hospital visit cause it hogged a hole in your arm. ... show more

  • BUYER BEWARE
I bought this bit and the first one that came in, one of the knife blades shot across my shop as soon as the CNC spooled up. The replacement bit that arrived came with 3 damaged blades from factory. If you buy this, inspect the blades thoroughly before using.
