Description

This blade features a thin kerf, which makes it ideal for saws that are a bit underpowered, but at the same time this tool delivers great performance. You will be satisfied with the excellent price/quality ratio. The laser cut heavy-duty blade plate is hardened to allow for great resistance (46-48 Rockwell in hardness) and features expansion slots to reduce noise and anti-vibration design. The teeth are made of micrograin carbide to ensure long-lasting cutting performance and deliver smooth cut on wood and wood products. These are brazed to the blade body through a special trimetallic bond (copper-silver-copper), so that longer cut performance and resistance are guaranteed. Blade is delivered in a unique CMT plastic case. • Great all around.
I'm a pro trim carpenter and I'm steadily changing my miter saw blades to fit the job at hand. From low 48 tooth count high 18 degree hook angle blades for thick stock, to high 100 tooth count low -5 hook angle blades for delicate moldings. This blade is a happy medium between the 2 that handles all tasks well. If you want 1 blade to do it all, this 72 tooth 7 degree hook angle blade will pay the bills. ... show more

  • Best blade you can buy.
Don't waste time and money or store bought or factory blades. When your factory blade wears out, buy this. It is stiffer, does not flex like this blades. There is more carbide on these blades so they last longer and are actually worth resharpening if you desire. CMT is a blade that is used in High Production shops all over the world. I have used them for years in high production facilities where literally hundreds of thousands of cuts are made each week. You don't always get what you pay for but you do with CMT blades. As compared to the price of the other blade makers you get way more. ... show more

  • saw blade
Great blade. I bought this blade for a house I was trimming with lots of handrail, and job built post. I wanted something that was going to make quality cuts without and movement or drifting. I think it did a great job. I also like the lower quanity of teeth. I think it cuts through the wood easer, as apposed to bogging down. Heavy duty blade. This is not a thin Kerf blade. This is the heaviest blade I own. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Inaccurate description. 253.072.12 is plain ATB
If like me you were looking for a flat-tooth profile with the benefits of quick cuts ATB profiles offer, this looked like a great find: 1FTG+2ATB means every third tooth should be flat-ground, and the others would be alternating angles. The part number being sold here is just a plain ATB grind, and will NOT leave you with a flat edge on your kerf. CMT does in fact make 1FTG+2ATB blades, but this isn't it. ... show more

  • Great blade.
Fantastic blade. I'm always surprised by the quality you get for the money with CMT. This 12" blade will last many many years with sharpening. It cuts very cleanly and effortlessly. Soft woods don't seem to gum up too badly. Cuts hardwood like butter.

  • Great value great cutting blade
Great blade cuts through wood like butter. Very affordable compared to Forester blades and just as good. All I use on my table saws and Miter saws is CMT for now on.

  • Throw away all other blades, hands-down this blade is my favorite in 12" sliding compound miter saw
Can't write enough good about this blade and CMT Blades in general. The Pro Red Fancy this-and-that blade company makes good router blades I don't care if it's pro or pro-consumer thier mitre saw blades are not that good. I've met with top frued reps and they swore up and down that thier pro ultra fine 12" 100 tooth would be just as good as a CMT... WRONG! CMT ITK is untouchable! Ditch your red blades, burn your yellow blades and buy ORANGE. I have been using CMT Blade in my shop on a 12" Comp Mitre Saw and 10" 15Amp table saw for 4 or five years and to this day, even the dull in need of sharpening CMT Blades will still cut better than red, yellow, green and both of the blue blade companies. Try the 72 / 12" I garuntee on your first cut you'll never go back to another brand. ... show more

  • WAS Pretty sharp
FOLLOWUP: I have Forrest and Freud blades (10") that are far older than this one (ten times older), and they still cut acceptably with no burning. This blade, after somewhat more than a year of irregular use, is toast. It burns its way through a 2x4. I used the Forrest and Freud blades for making hardwood furniture from oak, cherry, and walnut. They cut a mile of pine to build railings, shelving, etc. I also used them for cutting aluminum and laminate flooring. This CMT blade got about 10% of the use of those other blades. I wouldn't buy it again, nor can I now recommend it. It worked very well at first cutting oak moldings, but now I wouldn't even bother sending it out for sharpening. I have to find a more durable blade for the 12" miter saw. ======================================================== I use this blade in my DeWalt DWS780. Excellent glass smooth cuts with no hint of burning. I can put the finished side facing the fence and there is no tearout at all. What more could you ask for? Also, you can make slight trims with not a hint of blade wandering. I highly recommend this blade. ... show more
