If you want to cover the entirety of the inside of your laser engraver with a thick layer of black soot, this is for you. For everyone else out there who wants something that cuts clean, steer clear. This is 100% NOT cast acrylic.

contact paper / masking covering sheets nearly impossible to remove without tearing. essentially "melts" while attempting to cut in a glowforge. playing with settings, but it is a very different composition than proofgrade clear acrylic settings.

    • This is NOT cast acrylic.
This product is PET and more than likely extruded PET at that. Don't even try to use a hole saw on it. It will crack almost instantly or start to melt. This isn't like normal cast acrylic where it pelletizes.

    • Beware: This is PET, -not- cast acrylic despite the subject
"12 Pieces 8 x 12 Inch Clear Acrylic Sheet 1/8 inch Thick Transparent Square Panel Cast Acrylic..." If you read the details and not just the headline, you'll see that this is PET, not cast acrylic. "Easy to Cut: the clear acrylic sheets can be applied for hot cutting (laser cutting)" it is not. PET is -not_ easy to cut. Multiple low-power passes will eventually cut it, but CO2 laser users should be aware that PET burns, melts, and smokes easily when the power is raised. It etches fine if you don't need to cut it. This is not laser cutter compatible in spite of what the ad copy says. This melts horribly and will not cut not matter what you try.

seems to be good acrylic, only issue I have is the paper on the sheets are a pain to get off, it took me 5 mins each side because it kept tearing and by time I got it off the acrylic was all scratched. They also send you pieces that are cracked

    • Not Cast acrylic - laser cutters/engravers be aware
I put this in my laser cutter and tried a couple of passes but this didn't act like my normal acrylic from glowforge or Lowe's/Home Depot.
