I snagged this Custom Leathercraft backpack tool bag on an Amazon Lightening Deal to use as a range bag. I loaded it up with 650 rounds of ammo, 1 full size handgun, 6 high capacity magazines, 2 sets of low profile ear protection, extra sets of disposable ear protection, 4 sets of eye protection, small lube/tool range kit, flashlight, range log and various rags. I could easily fit a second handgun with additional mags, no problem. The bag is certainly rugged enough to handle the weight load of more ammo but I doubt I'd still be about to sling it on my back. It's now had a couple of trips to the range and I am extremely pleased. The material is thick and durable, the zippers are tough and the stitching is heavyweight. There is an ample amount of interior pockets so everything can be organized in its own spot. An added bonus is the row of pockets in each compartment that are the perfect size to hold individual magazines. I have noticed I could use a couple of wider pockets though so a bit of customizing by cutting the stitching in between some smaller ones should fix that. There is an elastic strap sewn into the interior flap which is great for keeping lightweight items like glasses in place at the top of the bag so they don't get crushed. The back and straps are padded which make it comfortable to carry. The bottom has a semi-rigid form (approx. 9"x11") sewn into it with rubber grips on each corner which keeps it from sitting directly on the floor. The bag sits upright nicely without flopping over and all compartment zippers can be open fully to the bottom which makes accessing everything inside very convenient. The two heavy duty loop carrying handles on the top of the bag make it easy to move the pack around when it's not slung on the back. For a quick trip to the indoor range, this is a great bag and I have no doubt it will withstand many, many years of range use. My husband had a good chuckle when it arrived and I told him of its intended use. Now that he has seen how well it functions and the practicality of my choice, he has requested one of his own. Bonus - this is a fairly anonymous looking bag and therefore does not advertise the presence of expensive firearms. Nondescript is a good thing at times. ... show more

    • It's Fantastic as a Travel Laptop Bag
I do not use the CLC 1134 Tool Backpack to hold tools as intended. I recently bought the backpack to use as a travel laptop bag. I spend 75% of my time traveling nationally and internationally and I need alot of space to hold different items (flashlight, umbrella, first aid kit, etc) . It is a great bag for traveling, it fits well in the overhead storage compartments on domestic and international carriers. I use the bag to hold all my chargers, cables, adapters for the various countries. I generally carry a Macbook Air, IPAD Air and a Kindle Fire. This bag is fantastic! It has a ton of storage, I moved the contents of my old laptop bag into the CLC 1134 and the bag swallowed everything and was only half full. I started looking for additional items to put in the bag. The bag is well constructed and will stand up well to all my traveling. The bag is also comfortable to wear. The front kangaroo pouch is great , this is where I store my laptop power cables. The front velcro pocket is great for easy access to an iphone, ear buds and a phone charger. There is an inner zippered pocket where I store all my travel documents(passports, etc). I also have room for a good first aid kit. I do not have any problems going through security. I like this bag so much going to buy another one in the event that CLC discontinues this product. This bag is the best. Period. I work at a ski area and I can carry everything I need for maintenance with me. This bag is rugged and has tons of room. I carry complete sets of wrenches, adjustable wrenches, multiple screwdrivers, insulated screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters/strippers, vise grips, wire brushes, utility knives, notepad, pens, electrical tape, marking tape, hex keys, Allen wrenches, bits, headlamp, hammer, multimeters, lockout/tag out, and spare parts. The here is so much room in this bag, you can carry everything you need. The rubber feet on the bottom are nice because I can set it down on the snow and not soak the bag. It is comfortable to wear on the back, and is nice because I can put it on and jump on a quad or ride up the chair lift comfortably and have all my tools with me, while still having my hands free. Plus, I can ski to where I need to with the bag on my back. It is comfortable to out on over a full body harness for when I need to climb towers or get to hard to reach places. The front flap is nice, I can slide my Fluke meter bag into there and have it easily accessible. I own another one of these bags as well, which I mainly keep at home. This bag is so nice, it makes my job so much easier and I know I have all my tools with me and I can quickly find them and get them to wherever I need to be in a timely manor. ... show more
