  • Looks great, priced well, very unique.
Color: Black
I love automatic watches. No battery, wind it once and as long as I keep this on my wrist it will stay running as long as i wear it. So far this has been the case with the Eye of Horus watch. I wore it for a week straight and never once did I have to wind it. The self winding feature is working great for me. By the way, the it's a bi directional winding device, which is something you see a lot on high end watches. Whether it swings clockwise or counter clockwise, it winds the watch. I have to say, I really dig the aesthetic concept. Combing Horus with a wristwatch. Its done very tastefully too. The watch looks great. Like a little art piece on my wrist. It is a traditional style watch with two hands and a second hand, but the second hand is a rotating triangle. The hour and minute hands can be seen pointing to time markings amount the outer perimeter. The watch is "skeletonized" which means you can clearly see the movement. The movement appears to be floating in the center of the watch at first glance. All the little gears and balance wheel pulsing like a heart beat. The back of the case is also glass so you can see right through the whole movement. I don't think the glass is sapphire, but rather some kind if mineral glass. It seems to be scratch resistant so far. No damage at all despite being very active while wearing it. I've been noticing automatic watches pop up lately that are reasonably priced. I'm not opposed to trying something new. A lot of the luxury watches are overpriced due to brand recognition alone. I love seeing well made, imaginitive automatic watches priced reasonably. For the money, this watch is an excellent little piece. People have asked me about it because it's so unique. It catches the eye and people want to know "who makes it, where'd did I get it?" Etc. The watch itself is very well made. Its lighter than stainless steel but has a nice presence on my wrist. I believe it's some kind of ceramic. The description says bioceramic. Not sure what that is exactly, but it looks great. It's not trying to be another luxury watch clone. It's it's own thing and for that I am grateful. The band is just a basic silicone band. Very soft and flexible. Very comfortable. However, I might go ahead and get a leather band for this watch. Either way, this watch is definitely going to be added to the rotation. ... show more

  • Big statement piece, but pretty cool if you are into this kind of watch.
Color: Black
This watch is definitely not for everyone, it is a statement piece with a lot of wrist presence. It is not very legible and there are no minute markers so you will not be able to use it to tell the time precisely, but then again isn't that what your smart phone is for? This watch is really more of a wearable mechanical art piece, and if you look at it that way it is a very cool watch. The Ciga Design Eye of Horus is 48mm wide, making it a fairly big watch that will probably not appeal to a lot of people, especially one's with skinnier wrists, but the lug to lug distance is slightly shorter than the width at 47.5mm, as I measure it. Combine that with the lightweight bio-ceramic case and the silicone strap and it actually wears quite comfortably. Keep in mind that the water resistance rating is only 3ATM, meaning that it is splash resistant but will probably not fair well to being submerged or even held under running water. This is fine for this type of watch as it is not a sports watch or a daily wear, but just be aware of this to prevent damage. Also, the watch case and strap seem very durable, but the front and back crystals are mineral crystal, which will scratch if you knock the watch up against a door jam or toss your keys on top of it at the end of the day. I personally think sapphire would have been a better choice for the scratch resistance, that or even an acrylic crystal that is easy to buff out scratches. The rotating triangle with the eye symbol is nice and the suspended automatic (self winding) movement is very cool to see working. I got the the black version, which I think is a little easier to read the time on than the silver or gold versions as the white lume paint on the hands provide more contrast with the black. And speaking of lume, it does look very nice when you hit it with a UV light, however, it is not very long lasting lume and will get pretty dim after only a few minutes. Overall, I think this is a very cool watch at a fair price. If you like the design and don't mind the size I would not hesitate to buy the Ciga Eye of Horus. P.S. - Look up the symbols for the Eye of Horus and the symbols for the Eye of Providence. The symbols on this watch look a lot more to me like the Eye of Providence, which is an eye enclosed in a triangle and is on the back of the one dollar bill. Not that this is a big deal but just interesting to wonder what went on in the design process to end up using the Eye of Providence then end up calling the watch the Eye of Horus. ... show more

  • Beautiful watch, a bit hard to tell time
Color: Silver
The CIGA Design mechanical watch is an absolutely beautiful watch. You can see everything working inside of it which is so fun to look at. I am not a watch collector nor do I know much about watches. Most of the time I wear an Apple Watch, but every once in a while I like to wear a more traditional watch for special occasions where an Apple Watch just doesn’t feel right. The CIGA watch came in a very well designed package. It felt premium from the very start. The box is like a book and as you flip the pages, you reveal the watch, band, and then the instructions on how to wind and operate the watch. After winding it initially, there is a mechanical piece inside the watch that will automatically wind it as you wear it. The triangle Eye of Horus piece in the middle is so fun to watch as it spins and there is nice trim that glows in the dark. The only thing that I don’t love about this watch is the time can be a bit hard to tell the time because of the shape of the arms and the markings on the side. Since that is the entire purpose of the watch, I feel like something could have been done to make it a bit easier. This is a gorgeous piece of jewelry and an excellent gift if you know someone who loves watches. Its very unique skeleton design is very fun to watch and the time is easy to set and very accurate. It is a great conversation starter as I have already received several complaints from people who see it. At the time of writing this review, it is selling for $174 which is a great value for a watch of this quality. It is comfortable to wear and stays running as long as you keep wearing it. The wind will end after about 24 hours, so if you stop wearing it, you will have to wind and set it again but it’s very quick and easy. Overall I am very happy with the CIGA Design watch. ... show more
