  • Love it
I use it on my Fender Electric Acoustic. I have arthritis so not easy for me to learn without something like this. True I just play around with the guitar every. Once in a while but I can play Sweet Child of Mine because of the Chord Buddy

  • It's True, You Can Play Your Guitar Now!
Yes, it takes some manipulation of the device to get its' placement just right. But with some care, it should work on most all full size guitars. My 30 year old daughter loves the fact that she can finally play the guitar with good success. You can only play some of the basic chords, but most songs can be played easily with just a few minutes of serious effort being applied. My 5 year old grandson is also having a "blast" with the ChordBuddy. ... show more

Difficult to lock down into position and very difficult to remove from the neck of the guitar. System is learnable but after a few weeks I shifted over to a different learning system. Helps your develop some muscle memory and learn proper tension by finger.

  • Good product need kid version with more up to date songs
Good product but box came all smashed up looking like it was very used. Luckily it was easy and quick to exchange for new one but that box still looked old and warn but still better than other box. My 9 year old attached this to her guitar with my help. It was nice to use the book to play songs right away however all the songs are ones that kids don't know so it was hard to do. We started going through the lessons though and very easy for kid to understand with a little adult help. ... show more

  • A bit hard to install but worth the trouble
I did need to look on youtube to get help on the install but after that I was good! Or on the DVD it has video instructions too. I have tried so many guitar teaching tools and i always gave up, but with Chordbuddy I instantly saw results and learned my first song ( sweet home alabama.) This helps you get your picking and strumming down then you slowly remove the chord buttons as you progress. It also helps you build up your finger strength. Tons of materials that costless than about 1 physical lesson LoL. ... show more

  • Highly Recommend!! Young or Old
I think this product is amazing! My 16 year old son and my husband have been playing with the ChordBuddy since it came in the mail. I've enjoyed listening to the many songs they've played. My husband requested a couple of songs from the guy on Youtube who made the product. That guy is fabulous! He played the songs my husband requested and now my husband is learning by watching the videos. My son loves the ChordBuddy and we can hear him in the middle of the night playing. My husband and son's opinion - well, let's just say they've since ordered another guitar. They love this product. ... show more

  • 'I've got blisters on my fingers!!!!' Not!!!
One of these days I'm going to be the star of amateur night and wow them at the local pizza parlor with my guitar playing, thanks to 'Chord Buddy'. So far it's going okay, seems like a good system for lazy musicians. Normally the first time you learn how to play, your fingers hurt and who doesn't hate that? Chord buddy helps eliminate that. What do you have to lose? Buy it.Then go on 'Shark Tank' and serenade that blonde girl with the long hair-tell her I sent you. ... show more

  • Not recommended to those wanting to learn to play guitar
A real disappointment. I purchased the ChordBuddy system for my husband's birthday and unfortunately, it's a bust! The device would fit on both his and my guitars but would not stay in place (according to the video, it must be angled slightly upwards away from the neck so that the tabs will not rest against the other strings while chording). No matter how tightly we clamped it on, it kept slipping back down more parallel with the neck of the guitar rendering it impossible to chord correctly! But that was not the worst of it, this device does not actually teach you how to properly chord a guitar as we had anticipated. It merely teaches you to press the buttons on the device that in turn press tabs that make the chord. The idea is really good but my husband is more interested in actually learning to play the guitar and this is just not the right training aid for that. On a positive note, the instructor in the video does a great job of going over strumming patterns and the book is filled with a great list of songs for those who can read sheet music. ... show more
