Great skates for rink skating, this is the second pair I've bought. My first pair lasted four years, and even survived a few bouts of outdoor skating. If you're looking for skates that roll, are lightweight, and aren't gonna get all rickety on you, these are them. They are well constructed and durable and the wheels are good for indoors. Everything is straight and tight on arrival. These skates work for spins/bunny hops but they are NOT trick skates. These are for no-frills skaters, the minimal amount you can achieve with the most enjoyment, for learners and casual skaters. CONS: The brakes (toe stops) are very hard, maybe good for outdoors on asphalt but not grippy enough for indoors, so plan on replacing them with other (bolt on) toe stops. The bearings aren't awful, but as a general rule they should be replaced with something else no matter what wheels you're on. If you want to skate outside, you will want softer/larger wheels. I have been able to skate outside on what they come with, but the cracks and textures will really mess you up. GENERAL STARTERS RULES: With every new pair of skates (and preferably before you put them on every time) adjustments need to be made. Listen very carefully: NEED. You need to tighten everything down firmly before you get started. Dont tighten the ones with the rubber cushions that attach to the skates much, if you tighten it much more then you'll ruin the cushion. Once the wheels and toe stop and the little nuts on the boot are tight, you want to go to each wheel and loosen it a quarter turn (90°) or less and spin the wheel, once the wheel spins freely and sustains for a little bit then its loose enough. If your wheel slides/rattles on the pole holding it (any more than just a tiny tiny bit of wiggle room) then you need to tighten it down all the way and start again. ... show more

This is my first pair of skates. While I'm not a greenhorn when it comes to skating. I can tell the difference between a good skate and a bad skate. In my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons. There are cons, but for the price these shoes are definitly worth it. The shoe is pretty nice. I did have an issue with the stitching rubbing against my foot, but I added an extra sole in and fixed the issue. The toestops are my only real complaint. They don't grip and they feel like cheap plastic that wears down really quick. They will be replaced. The wheels that came with the skates aren't that bad. However, when the skates arrived at my house, the wheels were on tight and I had to loosen them. And let's not forget about the laces. I don't like how long they are. So I trimmed them up a bit. I will also replace them soon. In summary: You get what you paid for. While I'm not new to skating, this was my first pair that wasn't a hand me down or rental. As a pair of starter skates, I will definitly recommend this to anyone. ... show more

super excited about these! My son is 9 & wears a shoe size 6, I bought these in a size 6 & they fit him perfect! He just learned to skate using some old skates that were too small for him & didn't roll very good, so he is super happy to have a pair that fits & rolls amazingly. I squeezed my foot into them & they roll nice & smooth. We use them for outdoor only as we have no rinks here. He skated through the neighborhood & really liked everything about these skates. They also look really nice! Jet black with white stoppers. Update... The next day my daughters skates arrived. She wears a ladies size 7-7 1/2 shoe. I bought her the size 7 & they fit great. They also fit me perfect & I wear a womens size 8 shoe. We are super happy with these skates! Awesome purchase! ... show more

I ordered 2 pairs of these for my twins in size 1 (blue laces) and size 2 (red laces). Out of the box I was excited for them. I laces them with each child's favorite color laces (72" were recommended, WAY too long). I knew the bearings weren't going to be fantastic, but figured at at least they had an ABEC rating, and my kids are pretty much beginners. If you look at the pics the skates are set up "right foot" in one pic then "wrong foot" in the other. The wheels are HORRIBLY misaligned. Almost like the trucks were twisted and the axles were tilted in the "right foot" pictures. Then the "wrong foot" pictures speak for themselves. All these photos were taken on a level surface with no weight put on the skates. The blue lace pair came with all 8 nuts so cranked down that I couldn't get them to budge even with the tools I use on my good skates. I was afraid the bearings were going to be crushed, thankfully I think the washer/spacer they put on them saved them, only one bearing (in pic) had damage. The red laces pair were easily removed. While skating, the blue pair (unknown to us, till I noticed from a distance) lost a toe stop, they were tight when we left. We thankfully found the stop, did not find the bolt. Overall, for cheap skates, they're not awful, but I absolutely would not buy them unless you are ready for adjustments. Eventually we will be replacing the wheels and bearings to better, less slick wheels and a nicer bearing setup (especially since when they move to their next skates, the wheels and bearings can move with them). We will also be replacing the stops on both skates to prevent anymore mishaps. My kids had fun, and didn't get hurt, and that's what matters, just really consider how much work you're willing to put into the skates out of the box. I'm fortunate to have a friend who is very very good with skates and willing to help me with the adjustments. They still need further adjustment, but we're usable. ... show more

I bought these so I had decent skates when I take my daughter. I gave these 5 stars bc for the price they’re great. You’re not getting $3-400 skates but they’re great for the rink. I got mine super cheap bc they were an Amazon and they paid for themselves with 8 trips to the rink.
