Description

The Chemical Guys Fine Grade Clay Bar and Lube Kit will easily and safely remove stubborn contaminates that will not be removed during the washing process. Stubborn surface damaging contaminants such as tar, tree sap, bird droppings, bug smear, embedded road grime, paint over spray, and airplane fallout can leave surfaces rough and gritty. The Chemical Guys light blue bar safely and effectively removes contaminants without needing to scrub the surface too hard. Hard vigorous rubbing usually leads to scratches and surface damage. Luber Hi-Lubricity lubricant was specially formulated to increase lubricity and reduce friction. Luber lubricates paint, delivering a slick non- stick surface so that clay can be easily and gently glided across the surface. Chemical Guys Clay Bar and Lube Kit will extend the life of your clay while delivering superior surface lubricity during claying. Stick with a genuine clay lubricant to get the best performance and longevity from your detailing clay.

  • Good
Works well, but there wasn’t enough to complete a full size truck. The clay is good however it does turn your fingers slightly blue

  • Didn’t think it was working
I had four drips on my back trunk that felt like permanent bumps. These showed up after being valet parked at a hotel so something corrosive dropped on the car. I tried all kinds of cleaner products and ended on this one. It didn’t seem like it was working at all but after about ten minutes of spraying and rubbing, the drips disappeared. What a surprise… and a good one. ... show more

  • Excellent product
If you are new to using clay this is the product to use. It was easy to use and not harsh on the clear coat. I was impressed with the amount of grime it pulled off the paint and the result was a smooth surface for a wax and finish. Great product that I will use again and again.

  • Good stuff
I neglected my car during the winter by washing it less frequently than usual and then COVID hit and I didn't drive it much at all so it just stayed parked (and unwashed) in my driveway for another couple of months. The paint had collected a lot of contaminants. Using this product, I removed those contaminants from the entire car in about 30 minutes. After the finish was smooth, I gave it a nice wax job with a dual-action polisher and in another hour I had a better than factory finish. This is definitely a great product. On a side note... I just so happened to buy poster tack (a tacky putty that you can use to put up posters and frames without using nails or thumbtacks). That product had VERY similar properties to this clay product. Like, if you handed one of them to me while I had my eyes closed I wouldn't be able to tell which one it was. I'm going to try using the poster tack next time I clay a car and see how it goes. ... show more

  • Great starter kit
Chemical Guys offers a variety of high quality, affordable products. I'm particularly fond of their waxes and microfiber towels. I purchased this kit to get a feel for their clay bars and came away very impressed. The included clay bar is of good size and actually ended up outlasting the lube. It is, as advertised, a light duty clay bar; if your car is heavily contaminated I would suggest moving up to the gray bar. If you are new to clay barring, here are a few quick tips: 1. Wash > Dry > Clay > Wash > Dry > Wax You can of course compound or polish in between the clay and wax, but these are the absolutely necessary steps. 2. Before busting out the clay, put your hand in a brand new Ziploc bag (or whatever brand storage bag you have sitting around) and run it slowly across the surface of your car. This will amplify your sense of touch and give you an idea of where to focus your time. Generally the front of the vehicle has the most contaminants. 3. Spray a chunk of the bar with a little bit of lube to make it more workable and form it into a patty about 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. Spray each spot with lube before you clay it and spray again if the clay starts to catch. Reform the patty frequently to avoid scratching your paint with the dirt it has accumulated. 4. If you drop the patty on the ground, throw it away. NO EXCEPTIONS. ... show more

  • Did not work as expected
I am a big Chemical Guys fan, I own most of their line of products and love them, but I was a little disappointed with this the clay did not remove any of the stuff clay is supposed to remove not the bits of tar or bugs not even the loose bits of oxidized paint. It is light duty but even that should have done something. I guess I will try a heavier one. While I don’t recommend this product I certainly highly recommend the Chemical Guys line of products I think they are great ... show more

  • Works well, use half of clay
Product works well. I should say the biggest risk is that you drop the clay into the dirt at which point the directions say throw it away. This is because you may now have sand in the clay that will scratch the car. Next, break the bar in half and just use 1/2 at a time. The clay lube is soapy so slippery and it is very easy to drop the clay bar. So, I would recommend that you form part of the bar into a ring around one of your fingers to hold onto it or make a handle to grip out of it. Or put a drop cloth or cardboard under you as you clean to prevent the clay from hitting the dirt. Chances are about 75% that YOU WILL DROP THE BAR. So, be prepared. Also, if the car is too hot in the sun the bar may melt a bit and stick to the car which will take some rubbing with the bar to get the excess off. You can do it in the sun but you will use about twice the lube. You can probably do a 4 door sedan about 4 times if you are somewhat careful with the lube (which will probably run out before the clay. If you see the clay getting pretty dirty you might cut off the dirty clay and throw it out rather than merge it back into the clay. Overall a great product for a good price. I used it on a brand new Tesla 3 before putting great paint sealer on to protect the paint. ... show more
