Think of this as electrical tape for mats! It has exactly the same feel characteristis as electrical tape, except it's much wide. I like how it's stretchy, so that it'll conform to the texturing on my EVA foam tile. I don't expect this tape to prevent the tiles from being torn apart (even though I've tape the tiles together on both sides), -- the EVA foam is very difficult for any adhesive to stick to -- but it works to improve the aesthetics of the mat and reduce the risk of a trip hazard caused by unevenness across tile boundaries.
