These are good for the gym, not too thin, not too thick. These won't work for "going out" when you need your wallet and car keys etc. Pockets would be an issue for that. However, these shorts dry quick and help keep you cool. They are light weight, airy, and a good length. Everyone's body type and personal preferences are different. For me, I'm 6ft, chunky but not flabby with some muscle, maybe 240 ish. I got XL as most XL works well. These do, but I wish they were a smidge wider. I'm pretty sure XXL would be too big. I have XL Adidas shorts that are "too wide" for gym but better for lounging. I'd take a chance on these for gym use. ... show more

I’ll give this 4 stars. Fit is true, I’m 6’ and xxl length for me is good, to top of knees. Fabric is soft, lightweight and cool. My only complaint are pockets, none on back as shown in photos, and side pockets are very shallow, barely able to hold my small iPhone. Value is a 10 at $8. These were a super sale at $11. They fit perfect without feeling constricted at the waist like other elastic banded shorts. I ordered 3xlt and they go to just above my knees. They are both very cool and comfortable as the material is on the thinner side. They also hang nicely without looking baggy. The pockets are adequate. Not really deep but they hold essentials. As a 6' 6" 300lb guy, its hard to find clothes/shorts that not only fit but are wearable, look good, and are comfortable. These are by far the best shorts I've come across. ... show more

I bought a pair for my husband and planned to buy several more if he liked them as the price was great, but the pockets are not deep at all. He says the quality and the feel of the shorts are great, but the pocket depth is too small.
