I bought this for a couple of reasons: 1. My foster cats/kittens sometimes accidentally close my bedroom door while they are playing or it will close when I have multiple windows open because I have a great cross breeze. It worries me when this happened while I was away from home in case someones tail or paw was in the door when it closed. 2. When i sleep at night I don't want to leave my door wide open so my roommate doesn't see me with my mouth wide open and snoring. But if I left it open just a little bit, my fosters would close it while they were playing. Super easy to use and highly effective keeping the dogs out…and the food seeking missile that is a pig! 2* since on one of mine, a rivet-like thing popped out after just 3 days and I’m struggling to pop it back in. Kind of wish the rivets-like bits were affixed to the handle piece better like an actual rivet instead of just placed like a puzzle piece. I have a large dog that tries everyday to stick his head in the cat room and this product works nicely to keep him out but still be accessible to the cats. I like that it’s adjustable. I have a handle rather than a circle knob and it works as intended. It does occasionally fall off when I have the door open all the way but not when it’s latched. This is one of things you buy and wonder, why didn't I think of that. All i needed to do was screw a peg into the plastic strap and hook to the door latch. Simple and so far my 80 lb dog hasn't figured out how to remove it so he can get to the cat food. So much easier and less expensive than putting up a door gate/fence. Would definitely recommend. UPDATE: It only took a week for my dog to figure out how to jiggle the peg out of the hole. And the last time he did it he also pull the eyelent off the strap. So I think we are back to just shutting the door! ... show more

I needed a way to leave a door open enough for air flow to make sure a room stayed heated without allowing my cat entry, and this adjustable tool worked perfectly. I can set it up on the 4th or 5th hole and it's not big enough for my cat to enter but is perfect to let air through. It it nice and strong to keep the door in place and prevent it from swinging back and forth. It's simple enough to open when you need to get in the room that my 5 year old figured out how to open and close it on her own the first day. Highly recommend if you want to allow your cat entry but not your dog, or if you need to keep a door propped open just enough where the cat can't fit through. ... show more

I wish I had discovered this product a year ago when we got our large puppy! This is SO easy to use, doesn’t require tools or any “installation”. You just put the metal peg on strap at the length you want the door ajar. Hang it on the door knob and place the peg in the indentation on the opposite side as you go in and out the door. EASY! Our large puppy bothers the cat and now the cat can go in and out of the bedroom and have space away from the dog. This was so inexpensive for such a great problem solver.
