Description

Glow is designed with sleep in mind. Its self-dimming, warm light lulls you into better, deeper sleep. Glow is a touch lamp — which, as you might have guessed, means touch and movement are all important when using it. Thought I would share my experience since I have three Casper Glow lights that I bought back in 2019. My wife and I love our glow lights and we have never had any issues, we even purchased one as a gift for our neighbors for Christmas because we have been so impressed with their functionality and design. All three of my lights still function perfectly with no issues. Two of these lights get used daily as they sit next to both sides of our bed and are connected so they turn on/off in sync with each other. They also are set to "wake up" every morning and we've never had any issues with them not doing this. The third light is in our child's room and is used less often, but still has had plenty of use over the years and has never had any issues. I noticed a ton of reviews on here complaining about these lights not working after just a few months, and that has not been our experience at all. The only reason I could see this happening is if they or their child was accidentally dropping the lights on the ground. (I could see this easily happening to someone with smaller hands or just not being careful because these lights are not very grippy) The other issue could be that the lights are not getting properly "seated" on their charging base, which is causing the lights to lose their charge and making people think that the light has stopped functioning properly. It is very easy to set the light down on the base and not get it seated properly because the groove the lights sit in are very shallow. This is probably my biggest complaint about these lights in general. I also saw someone complain that these lights are not compatible with android models? That is not true. I have use three different android models with these lights since 2019 and all of them have functioned correctly with the Casper glow light app. I'm currently using a Google Pixel 6 Pro on Android 14 and have no issues. I love these lights and hope that Casper will do an updated version in the future with a few more features. ... show more

I got two different glow lights and both of them were defective. Neither will charge and they both won’t turn on. I’m very disappointed as I already bought one and had to return it because of the same issue? meanwhile I purchased another one just for it to have the same issue. For how much these lights are it’s absolutely unacceptable to have this sort of quality issue. I wish I could give it less than 1 star ... show more

Just a couple of notes: Absolutely does work with Android. If it's not working, it's user error. (Sorry ) I've had multiple Android phones since getting my Casper glow light. The app downloads just fine. You have to make sure you turn your Bluetooth on. My most recent Motorola I had to turn the Bluetooth off and then back on again and then it connected immediately to my new phone. If you're not setting it on the charger correctly, it will run out of juice. It does have a battery. I did miss the charging pins and it shut off. I did once have to completely reset it by pressing the top and bottom buttons until it rebooted. I live in Connecticut, the winters are long and the days are short. It's next to impossible to get up before the sun this time of the year. But I bought one of these two years ago, and it been a great way to gently wake well before the sun gets up. Eases me into the morning instead of a jaring alarm sound. I just ordered a second one. *Save the little booklet* that comes with it. I recently had trouble connecting to my new smartphone. Did not occur to me the problem was with the phone. Light still connected to my previous phone so I was just leaving the previous phone next to it on the nightstand. Simply turning my Bluetooth off, and then back on again, and then it connected to the new phone (head slap). This is an extremely simple device. It works so well I've crowed about it on Facebook. $90 is pricey. And worth it. After the little debacle with the new phone, not being able to get it to work, I panicked and bought a second one. It was fun and worked well when it actually worked, but after ~6 months, it stopped charging. Unclear if the issue is with the charging base or the light itself, but either way it doesn't work and is pretty disappointing.

I bought this about a year ago and it has worked perfectly the entire time. It is powered by a self-contained battery that is not user replaceable. It will charge right side up or upside down on a little disk shape stand. You can use it as a portable night light --just pick it up and shake gently. You can turn it on or off by turning it upside down. You adjust the brightness by putting it down and rotating the light to brighten and the other direction to dim. It has an ap --you can set it as a sunlight alarm, setting 4 different schedules. You connect it to your wifi, and it will update time automatically. It gradually turns on about 1/2 an hour before the set time. No complaints here but if you don't get up could potentially disturb anyone else in your bedroom! I love this light. ... show more

    • Unreliable; all 3 I’ve gotten have stopped working after 4 months

Do not buy this. The light works well when it’s working, but there seems to be some quality issues with their production. I purchased mine in Nov 2022, and over this past year, I’ve had to go through their customer service to replace it twice. Now the third one I have has once again become unresponsive, and I’m stuck with a $120 paperweight as I’m out of the 1 year warranty. While I tried asking to get yet another one outside of the 1 year warranty (they really are nice when they’re working), they were out of options. While the light works great, if I could go back in time, i would buy a different light. ... show more

    • Wakes me up

I have been using this for months now, it is good. I prefer it to my Phillips lamp as that would make a beeping sound to make sure I woke up, that I did not want. Phillips did not require an app though, and this does, so keep that in mind. I never use the shake for dim light, I thought maybe it would be good for a trip to the kitchen to get a glass of water, but it is a little large for that. Still, all I needed it for was to gently wake me up in the morning, and it is great at that. ... show more
