  • A decent equipment case
I got this case primarily as a way to transport sound gear, including mics, wireless receivers, a DI box, and other small electronics or accessories. The case is a lightweight, but rigid poly styrene, making it crush resistant to a point. However, this is in no way equivalent to a wooden road box. The inside is fully padded with an egg crate type material. On the outside, a stiched handle is provided. I have some concerns about how well the handle will hold up over the long term. Overall, I am pleased with this product, and expect the more I use it, the more uses I will find. ... show more

  • Semi-hard case for a mixing deck, but it’s useful for so many other things.
I got this for my mix deck, but got a second one to store my portable induction stove that I purchased here on amazon. It’s good enough to to protect the glass surface of an induction stove, and great for protecting a Pioneer mix deck.

  • This is not a "hard case" and is not for heavy duty storage
First, this is simply a neoprene semi-hard case and not a heavy-duty hard road case. Think of this as a gig bag for your gear but make sure to still treat this case with some caution. Now that that is out of the way, I got this case to hold and transport a custom pedalboard that im building. With the interior space of 2.75", it is a bit tricky to try to fit an angled board with a power supply underneath in this case. Luckily, I have a low-profile power supply and I was able to fit the pedal board in the case by removing the foam padding in the main compartment (not the lid). As I stated above, I certainly would not toss the pedal board around when it's inside this case. I would break something. While the neoprene semi-hard shell seems well made, the cushion foam on the lid and in the main compartment feels like an afterthought rather than designed to be part of the case. The foam on the lid is attached with hot glue and not enough glue, for that matter. The foam on the lid is already coming off and I don't see it being on the lid for much longer. I'm deducting one star because of this. I'm deducting another star because the "protective foam" is only 1/2" thick and not the usual 1" like what you might see in a more robust case. If you're using this to hold DJ gear like it was intended for, 1/2" foam is simply not enough padding. Let's say you accidentally drop a DI box onto the lid of the case. 1/2" of foam will not prevent the impact force and you'll be breaking something inside. Since I'm using this for my pedal board, my pedals are made to withstand some rough handling so I'm not too concerned about the thin foam. However, if you have more expensive and delicate gear like DJ equipment, this case is not going to be protective enough unless you treat it gently. This case my work for you but make sure to consider that this is a semi-hard case and not "hard case" as it claimed to be. At least the dimensions listed are pretty accurate. ... show more

  • Nice, sturdy case!
I'm actually using this for my Numark MixDeck Express. It has similar dimensions to the Pioneer. It fits great, with room for patch cords and cables. It's a well-made case, with a shoulder strap that makes life easier, if you're pushing a cart with your sound gear. I wish CASEMATIX made drum cases, too! ... show more

  • Good for general purpose transport, fits a Tascam DP24 - tightly
You don't have to look through too many reviews to find that this case isn't really a custom fit to anything. It just has typical foam top and bottom, plus a somewhat awkward strip of a sort of "pick and pull" foam that could serve to protect one side of something? As shown in the images, it would work well to keep something from moving around or provide some cushion if the case it set on edge. I was interested in this for general usage. I have a lot of pedals, gadgets, and general music gear, but I was curious if my Tascam DP24 (I believe the newer DP24SD is exactly the same size) would fit and it's really almost perfect, BUT the case is pretty shallow, so closing the case completely compacts the foam and actually deforms the case a little where it contacts the raised screen section of the DP24. The lid is still pretty easy to close/zip this way, so it's not putting much pressure on it and would probably be ok for occasional careful transport. I didn't check any dimensions before ordering and really didn't expect the DP24 to fit, even a little tightly like this. All of that said, no matter how you use this case, you might want to look into getting some more padding. The plastic of the case is quite flexible, contents could still be damaged if you weren't careful, and you definitely don't want to stack anything on top of it, but I'm really pretty pleased with the case overall. My DP24 lives in a massive hard road case that a previous owner paired with it. It gives great protection and it's good for storage, but a little cumbersome to just put in the seat of my truck and drive across town. The Casematix case would be better in some situations for sure, as long as it wouldn't get tossed around. It would also work great for cables, pedals, direct boxes, digital recorders, and other such things, as long a certain amount of care was taken. It's not a "road case" by any means, but it's very useful and functional. I'm not sure what all I might find myself using it for, but I know it's going to get used! ... show more

  • Protects lighting board and monitor
This case is a good size and weight to protect my lighting board and touch screen monitor (fold flat) for use when busking shows. I am going to want to purchase more foam to keep my items secure. Feels quality!
