    • best for piecing, but order extra
Perfect for paper piecing quilts. However, beware of sheet count. Pkg paper count stated 100 sheets, but 2 of my packages only contained 95 sheets. Doesn't seem like much but when you order 300 sheets because your pattern requires 300 sheets, it's very disappointing to get only 290.

Not sure how I got sucked into Foundation Paper Piecing! But, this product does make it easier. And happily, you can put it in your home printer and print the pattern directly onto this paper. Easier than trying to trace with q light box. Foundation Paper Piecing is not as easy as it looks on youtube.com (yes, that was the enticement). If you're like me you will make a few mistakes before you get it right. Luckily I did my first block with scrap fabric. The photo is my second try. I need eight of these to male a table topper. And yew, the. 1/4" ruler is pretty much required for success. Happy Sewing. 😉 ... show more

    • Foundation Paper Piecing
I recently began foundation paper piecing, which is where you sew pieces of fabric directly onto angular paper patterns. After the project’s done and all sewn together, you rip off the paper. You need to use a special paper that can be easily torn off the project without damaging the fragile thread seams, and this paper works well for that. It’s more like a newsprint than regular paper, in that it’s thinner and tears much easier than regular copy paper. But it can still go through my inkjet printer, and I’ve also taken it to my local print shop and put it in their copiers with no problem. You can also hand trace the design onto this paper. This paper is thin but not transparent, so it’s helpful to have a light source if your tracing a pattern onto the paper or to make sure that your fabric is large enough to cover each piece of your pattern. I started by taping patterns and this paper to my window for background light, but it’s much better to use a ‘Light Box’. This was absolutely wonderful paper; printed perfectly, was exactly 8.5x11 inches, and tears away perfectly.

    • A great product that does what it is supposed to do
I did not expect to like this product. I couldn't see any reason not to just use copy paper until I used it for the first time. This paper is much thinner than copy paper. It holds together very well while you are using it, but a simple tug will make it fall apart at the seam lines when you are ready to remove it. It is transparent enough that you can see the stitching lines when you hold the paper up to the light as you are placing the fabric. It folds sharply so you can cut away the excess fabric.     • I wouldn't paper piece without it!
This is my second order for this foundation paper. I love it. It goes through my inkjet printer easily. Then it tears off of my paper-pieced blocks easily, when I am ready for it to. What else can I say? I tried plain printer paper before, this is so much better! I also took Ms. Doak's Craftsy class for paper piecing. With her techniques and her paper, my work turns out perfectly! ... show more
