    • Perfect for pretend-pirate play!

I purchased this High Seas Buccaneer Girl Toddler Costume Size Toddler (3-4T) for my 4-year-old and she loves this. The outfit is actually a one-piece dress, which fitted my daughter perfectly, and includes a hat, belt, and shoe covers. Yes, leggings in the picture is not included. The whole ensemble actually looks really nice and very pirate-y. The only thing is that the dress itself is a bit on the flimsy side with shirt and skirt edges not stitched so fabric is already starting to fray after two uses---and she doesn't play rough pirate. She just puts the dress on, studies a map and compass, and uses a spyglass to "search for treasure." As expected, the hat came scrunched in packaging and since it's a soft, felt-like material, the creases are still there even after "opening" it up for two uses---I guess the creases don't really deduct a lot from the whole pirate look as pirates may not have perfect hats after all. The belt, as several reviewers have mentioned, is on the large side and it's not adjustable and can be fastened on the end only with a velcro, it was frustrating for my daughter to see her belt not fixed properly---I still need to do some cut and sewing to repair this. Lastly, the shoe covers can actually provide that pirate boots look. However, the sole part is just a single, thin garter running width-wise in the middle of the foot, and the problem with this is that when the kid runs, the whole top part of the "shoe" flaps up. For that, my daughter hates these covers and doesn't want to put them on. Maybe, there should be another piece of garter running length-wise of the shoe? Luckily, she has an old pair of dark brown, scuffed, faux suede boots, and she puts them on to complete the pirate outfit. All in all, the outfit is a lot of fun. I bought them for nearly 30 bucks and I thought when I was I was buying it that the price is rather steep. However, since the product looks adorable in picture, I decided to buy it. After seeing it in person, I thought that maybe 18-20 bucks is a fair price for it. And today, it's selling for a little over 20 bucks and I'm naturally miffed that I paid much more for this outfit. The only consolation is that my daughter loves this outfit and is having a lot of fun. Btw, for anyone interested, I completed my daughter's outfit with the following: Pirate Telescope Black and Gold , SE CC50B Glow-in-the-Dark Brass Compass , and Plastic Treasure Map Party Accessory (1 count) (1/Pkg) . ... show more

The design of this costume is adorable but it is very cheaply made and not as pictured. The hat, jacket and boots are not the leather look shown but rather a cheapy felt material. The hem of the skirt is a cut zig zag not straight. The whole costume is very thin and there are cuts in the felt of the jacket and along the hem. The overall look is very cute but it will not hold up to much use. If you only need it for a single use and expect to receive a crumpled cheap costume, then it's good.     • FABULOUS COSTUME THAT MAKES THE LITTLE GIRL LOOKS CUTE!

This costume looks EVEN better in person! We needed it for a Pirate of C. themed B. Party. Many little girls had their costumes from all kinds of sources but this costume was absolutely the best looking even if some parents payed few times the cost of this as we spoke with them and exchanged notes. My daughter loved this for Halloween. She only wore it maybe 3 times. Too many peices to keep up with. Could be a better quality. Kind of cheaply made. But great for what I cought it for. She loved it.

At the time I Bought this costume in size small for a 2 1/2 yr old, that wears 2t in clothes, her height is 30-33 inches tall. The costume fit perfect, it’s thin (made of blouse like material) stretchy and roomy enough to wear a long sleeve and leggings underneath. The hat and boots are made of a felt material.
