    • Fit is much better than other Carhartt pants I have tried, but design could use some tweaks.
When these arrived, the tag actually did say "Slim Fit" -- not straight like this listing says. Probably just a branding/name change that hasn't been updated everywhere yet. I generally wear 36x30 in most pants, but after reading reviews, I decided to size up to a 38 waist and I'm glad I did. I think the 36 would have fit, but likely would have been tight. I prefer the looser fit anyway. I haven't pulled out a tape measure but these definitely seem way longer than a 30 inseam. I wish they came in a 28 inseam like some other Carhartt pants. I have to put about 3 cuffs in the bottom of these to hit where I like, which is just kind of covering the top of my 6" work boots, but they still look good. Might see about hemming them because the cuff just feels bulky with the thicker material of these pants. I'll echo some other reviews and agree that the zipper pocket doesn't really make sense. It's super small and just makes the left side of the pants feel bulkier than it needs to be. I guess you could put some loose change in there? Keys maybe. I don't know. It's not really convenient for something like a knife or a pencil that you want quick access to. The other thing that I find a little annoying is the location of the belt loops. I usually clip my keys to one of the right belt loops with a carabiner, then stuff them in my right back pocket, but the loop on these is too far forward to do that. Guess I need to switch to the zipper pocket. Regardless, I still like the pants more than most others and just ordered another pair. ... show more

I’m a carpenter by trade, but I wanted some pants to wear out with friends. I find the only Carhartt pants that survive the job site for more than a season are the USA made “firm duck” double front pants. These are comfortable to wear, relatively soft, have a little stretch and are really great casual pants. I like the color and the fit is pretty nice. I’m tall and slim, and like to wear slim pants. These fit a little more snug than Levi’s 501’s, in a good way for me. Overall, I’d buy them again if there were more color options, and they are definitely not for work.     • They are actually Tapered Slimmer fit
I do not like the Barrel Leg fit of most carharrt pants. It’s a struggle to find slim fit or tapered pants. These are actually tapered but not too tight. I love these pants. These are much softer than the duck material. These have a great stretch to them. I highly recommend them. Notice: the waist does run small. I am a 38 and the 38 fits snug after a wash. They do stretch out to a 39 or so. Just keep this in mind when ordering. It’s hard because they definitely stretch a size up after a day. They shrink again after wash. I wish they had a cell phone pocket. The small zipper pocket on the left is useless to me. I do not know what it’s really for. I would happily trade it for a cell phone pocket. These have a stitch at the knee you can kind of feel. It goes away after an hour or so. I think it’s necessary for the taper so it’s worth it. ... show more

These are really slim fit, non-streach, rugged jeans. There is enough room in the legs without being baggy. The fabric is rugged and seems to be be resistant to soil as well. Carhart quality is evident in these jeans.

I have two pairs of 'regular' or 'original' fit Carhartt pants I use for work and they have been great for almost two years now. I was looking for something with the same light, but durable feel in a slimmer size and found that Duluth Trading Co's options while great, are very pricey. So I gave these a shot. First of all... YES. They are considerably longer than the measurements say. A good 2-3 inches in fact. So definitely order a pair that is at least 2 sizes smaller than normal... I myself always order a 32 x 32 (I'm 5'9, 170 pounds) and found the waist was just right while having to cuff the legs twice to get them to a bearable length. No big deal, I like cuffs anyway. BUT if these Carhartts are anything like the other pairs I own, they shrink quite a bit length wise after a wash or two. So fair warning, I'm going to wash mine and see what happens. I'll edit my review if need be! Great pants though... flexible, comfortable, and the hidden zipper pocket is a nice touch. A side/ cell phone pocket and hammer loop would make them perfect though. ... show more

Classic Carhartt fabric you know and love. But the fit is a little weird. They're not slip fit at the openings but not really a relaxed fit either. I like slim fit pants and these pants have the fit I am looking for at the waist and along the thighs but the bottoms are very loose and seemed to run long. Even sent back for a different size and had the same issue. I wear work boots with them and the pants still are baggy over them. Would like to see some indication of "slim" or taper at the leg openings. I believe in you Carhartt, you can do this. ... show more
