I do not like the Barrel Leg fit of most carharrt pants. It’s a struggle to find slim fit or tapered pants. These are actually tapered but not too tight. I love these pants. These are much softer than the duck material. These have a great stretch to them. I highly recommend them. Notice: the waist does run small. I am a 38 and the 38 fits snug after a wash. They do stretch out to a 39 or so. Just keep this in mind when ordering. It’s hard because they definitely stretch a size up after a day. They shrink again after wash. I wish they had a cell phone pocket. The small zipper pocket on the left is useless to me. I do not know what it’s really for. I would happily trade it for a cell phone pocket. These have a stitch at the knee you can kind of feel. It goes away after an hour or so. I think it’s necessary for the taper so it’s worth it. ... show more

I’m a carpenter by trade, but I wanted some pants to wear out with friends. I find the only Carhartt pants that survive the job site for more than a season are the USA made “firm duck” double front pants. These are comfortable to wear, relatively soft, have a little stretch and are really great casual pants. I like the color and the fit is pretty nice. I’m tall and slim, and like to wear slim pants. These fit a little more snug than Levi’s 501’s, in a good way for me. Overall, I’d buy them again if there were more color options, and they are definitely not for work. A product of a recent trend with Carhartt, these pants seem to be designed more for fashion than for utility. The materials seem like they will be durable; the waist is true to size, but I must say that I am less than thrilled with what I received. Thankfully, the product description has been adjusted since my purchase; they are truly snug in the seat and thigh. These pants are simply not designed for a trip to a worksite; frankly, they are not really designed for men that have quads, hams or glutes, at all. I'm not terribly muscular in these areas, but these pants are snug on my legs - with a little extra room in the waist band. I almost imagine that the more recent designers at Carhartt mastered understanding the shape of the human form at the point of stick figures. My recommendation: don't buy Carhartt online. They haven't really gotten a grip on good product descriptions - you will be better served trying them on (or spending the extra money for 5.11). ... show more
