The denim is a little thin and smooth and just doesn't have the feel that I am used to with denim blue jeans. Feels kind of Walmarty. I ordered multiple size waists and lengths because I wasn't sure how they would fit as I haven't purchased Carhartt pants before. The waist on 36 and 38 were basically the same across the 4 jeans I tried and the 30" inseam length was a bit longer than other brands. For ~$45 today, they are probably about average jeans. They'll do the job for now, but I definitely won't buy at this "tier" a second time and may spring for some slightly more expensive ones in the future. Check out my picture, I’ve never seen this condition in any of my “stretchy” jeans. If you zoom in on the spots, you can see the problem pretty clearly. These are my first ever Carhartts and could be my last unless: 1) someone experienced in Carhartts will respond to this and tell me what the really good Carhartts are, and 2) Carhartt (or someone else) tells me why this is happening.
